Samsung has to pay over 1 billion dollars in damages! Yowza! Meanwhile, Apple pays zilch to Samsung.

In the short run, Apple wins. But in the long run it could very much be a Pyrrhic victory for Apple. If this win causes less competition, higher prices and less innovation there could be a backlash against Apple. Or Samsung might get out of the "similar to Apple" game and produce something that blows Apple out of the water.

Meh, Samsung had $6 billion in profits last quarter.

It will all end up with a big cross licensing agreement, but it will cost Samsung much more than what Apple offered them the first time.
