This is the coaches poll.

The coaches know who is the class of the Colonial!
As I posted on the 'Zone:
That is certainly more accurate than Phil Steele's moronic "predictions" every year.
(Although last year he had ND State and SHSU at 20 and 22 respectively; so ODU at 19 this year is just where we need to be 03-woohoo)

I saw something on CS where Sam Houston has picked up a number of FBS transfers from major programs, including two 4 stars. IF true, then I think SHSU has to be the favorite for now, even with a brutal schedule.

It's nice to see us in fairly close company with Appy and Georgia Southern, now we just have to go out there and prove why it matters.
Check out the stats thus far this season. I know it's only the second game and we've played a couple of cupcakes, but I think the numbers are telling, especially when you compare the stats with Delaware and JMU who also played a couple of cupcakes. Being ranked first in total offense was predictable, but first in total defense is a welcome surprise.

On the downside we are last in penalty yards. That's definitely got to change.

Those stats are going to get even better next week with the Camels coming to town!

COGS
Man, we gotta fix that punting game. Second to last in the CAA.

We were already #5 in the Coaches Poll.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/polls?poll=7 (Records have updated, but poll has not)

In the TSN poll we were #7, so we'd have to jump another team besides Ga Southern to get to #5.
We are now #4 in Coaches poll and #6 in TSN poll.

Maybe we can borrow VCU's pathetic 2011 banner..."WE'RE NUMBER 6!!!"

Two things in our way:

1) ourselves.
2) that damn triple-option.

Northeastern has a full size banner for being in the CBI.

I guess that's something to celebrate when you haven't won a conference championship in 20+ years.

That is truly very sad! 03-nutkick

Re: VCU setting high goals. I cannot wait to tell my kid to aspire to be Number 6 in everything they do in life.
Ha ha.......#6 banner is TOTALLY VCU in a nutshell.......celebrating mediocrity! Something tells me West Virginia doesn't have a #3 banner hanging up in there gym for their 09-10 finish to the season......just going out on a limb there.

They probably have a "Final 4 banner", which is fine, but a #6 rankings banner is just idiotic........just to complete the "VCUness" of it, it should have rainbows and glitters painted onto it.

Hmmmm...............thinking.........formulating.......hmmmm.........any chance there are some brave enough students to make this happen? lol
