If you could write one debate question to be asked of both Obama and Romney, what would it be?

Edit: I'll keep a running list of legit questions:

1) How would your approach to federal spending impact America's GDP in the short-term and the long-term?

2) During this time of budgetary crisis, is it not time to start looking at this issue and evaluating "what and where" the US can prudently eliminate overseas military personnel and bases that pose no national security issues or interests? Do you have a plan in place to address downsizing of our military interests abroad to help address our debt crisis?

3) Do you support the use of drones over US territory, NDAA, The Patriot Act, and the killing of US citizens without a trial? If so, where in do you find the Constitutional authority to do so?

4) Which elements of the Simpson-Bowles report do you disagree with and why?

5) Define what "middle class" means to you. Please include income, wealth, and education in your definition.

6) Do you believe America is facing a solvency crisis? If so, please provide specific details of how you will address it along with time frames for those actions.

7) Should the federal government recognize same sex marriage?

Mine:

LOL...I doubt the answers would be coherent.
I'd ask about Simpson-Bowles, but the dems would get that question banned from being asked.
Mine:
What clause of the Constitution or Bill of Rights do you feel authorizes the use of drones over US territory, NDAA, The Patriot Act, and the killing of US citizens without a trial?
You can ask any question you want. The problem is getting them to answer what is asked. So rather than provide a question I would provide Luca Brasi to ensure that they focus on the question asked.
Mr. President and Mr. Romney. I am sure you know the the United States currently has close to 200,000 non combat troops stationed all over the world. We have 80 thousand in Europe, 65,000 in Asia/Pacific and 20,000 in the Middle East. Additionally we have close to 700 active military bases in 38 countries.

My question Sirs. During this time of budgetary crisis, is it not time to start looking at this issue and evaluating "what and where" the US can prudently eliminate overseas military personnel and bases that pose no national security issues or interests? Do you have a plan in place to address downsizing of our military interests abroad to help address our debt crisis?
Mr President, you've made so many promises that went unfulfilled, ignored, or seemingly lied about, so why should we believe your promises now that we don't have your balls over a barrel with a 3rd term?
Explain how you purpose to pay back the national debt?

That's a good one. I think they'll want to keep the bases though. Gotta think long term. But you don't need much staff for that.

You've been reading again today, huh?

Democrats want debate question barred

Quote:Some Democratic lawmakers want to make sure that one question does not get asked at the upcoming first presidential debate - about Simpson-Bowles.

Three Democratic House members objected Tuesday to a request by four senators that President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney be asked which of the commission’s proposals to address the debt they support. The Democrats said such a question would force “candidates to choose solutions from one menu of options.”

It's not enough that all the debate mods are leftys and will undoubtedly toss softballs to Obama but those D's in Congress are working hard to make sure nobody asks him a tough one.

I'd go you one better, Niner. I'd ask the President, "Why do you expect anybody to believe your campaign claim that you will work on deficit reduction when you have already convened a commission to study the issue and then ignored their recommendation? What do you say to those who believe, based on your record, that you are NOT committed to reducing spending?"
Question has to be relevant to both Obama and Romney.
Define "middle class." Be specific.

That's not the way the game has been played. Liberal MSM never challenge the dem candidates like they do the GOP challenger. They carry a bagful of softballs for the dem every time.

How about just asking, "what would be your approach to solving the deficit problem?" That allows each of them to talk about what they would do and go to where they are comfortable. It would allow Obama to duck the question and talk, as he always does about "investments" he wants to make (spending) and would show those watching that he does not want to talk about cutting spending. Romney wouldn't be bothered by the question and would gladly use it to show the differences between a leader and a poser.

then go start your own thread and ask for biased questions.
Biased questions is all the GOP candidates ever get when almost all the mods are in the tank for the Ds.

Is this your first election cycle? You act like it.
To Obama: Did you renounce U.S. citizenship when you attended school in Indonesia? Did you attend university and law school as a foreign student?

To both: Please provide specific details of how you will help this nation avoid a solvency crisis. What programs will you cut? Basically how would you balance the budget in one year if you had complete congressional support for you ideas?

What is the proper role of government in relation to the life of the individual?
The top 10% pays 70% of the federal tax burden. How is this not their fair share?

He'd spend another $4 million to not answer that one.
