I flew back from Laguardia to Memphis with him and his wife a month ago. He was visiting a grandchild/children and caught a Yankees game. That's a funny comment about the shopping, frankly.

The man is an arrogant old curmudgeon that belittles Wolo unmercifully. I was on the verge this morning of phoning in and calling him out. However, I'm not sure who's worse.....the old goat for doing it or Wolo for accepting it without any response.

I enjoyed when Geoff was on with George...Geoff would take the most sports fan view of things and win most of the debates with George.
If I was ever a guest on his show, after the second or third interruption, I would hang up and tell him why before.
Been listening to George for nearly 30 years...mentioned that to a businessman many years ago. He told me he was George's college roommate in college, said he didn't have a sense of humor back then either. I enjoyed that observation.

I wouldn't worry too much about Wolo. For all he lacks, he does seem to be smart about getting the most career-wise out of his limited talents. I think he is just watching the clock tick on George.
Curmudgeon is the perfect word for George. Under curmudgeon in the dictionary, his picture is right next to Statler and Waldorf of the muppets.
what is even funnier is when ole George goes off the reservation about hunting or fishing (which I bet frankly the man never has picked up air rifle much less shot a real gun or baited a hook in his life). you can tell just how clueless he really is and the world he lives in is really small. as long as he is pandering towards an advertising spot ... the world is good.

I would imagine he's had a pretty good life. I've just never cared for his personality. I wasn't a fan in his Press-Scimitar days, either.
I still don't get it. Barbara Lapides is such a sweet, kind, lady. It's a shame when the lawyer in the household is the nice one!
