So, with little information out regarding the progress of the team, I'm bored with nothing new coming out so I'm going to lay my predictions for the season out there.

These predictions are based on the following thoughts:

1. Defense has no where to go but up and our new D coordinator won his only game as a Head Coach and our last D coordinator is gone (another plus)
2. Special teams can't be worse than last year as that's impossible
3. Like all other preseason predictions, my prediction is based on the assumption that all starters are healthy. Having a healthy Fatuniken, Singer, and Molls on defense as well as the addition of Emilien and Haden and also a great coach at D Coordinator (by all accounts from Huskies fans) will really make this a complete and great team.
4. Our offense is going to continue to be awesome. Big loss of Eric Paige will be replaced by big gain of Dwight Macon. We have two of the top 25 most efficient QBs in FBS returning. Our passing game will not miss a beat without Page but our rushing game will suffer a bit. Regardless, our offense will continue to be as AWESOME as it has been in the past.

So here goes. 10-2 going into the MAC Championship game

Arizona - Loss (+21) Arizona always has great athletes and have beat us up recently

Wyoming - Win (-7)

Bowling Green - Win (-17)

Coastal Carolina - Win (-35)

Western Michigan - Win (-3)

Central Michigan - Win (-17)

Eastern Michigan - Win (-14)

Cincinnati - Loss (+7) this is the best team the Rockets will face throughout the year but I think playing at home will allow the Rockets to keep it closer than the Arizona game

Buffalo - Win (-17)

Ball State - Win (-17)

Northern Illinois - Win (-17)

Akron - Win (-28)
14-0 and BCS National Champions, #1 in all polls!!! GO ROCKETS!!! 02-13-banana
Here is my opinion. The Rockets have a lot of young talent, but this year will be a step back, before they take it all next year. The defense should be one of the best if not the best in the MAC. I love the D-Line and Linebackers. We'll see about the secondary. The offense IMO has the most question marks. There are three new O linemen and IMO a couple are there until some of the younger guys are ready. Fluellen will become a feature back, but I don't know if he will be as dominant as Thomas and the depth behind him is questionable. A new tight end and the need for someone (although Macon was impressive in the spring) to help spread the field for Speedy Reedy. While the schedule is not a top ten schedule, it is really a challenging schedule in its on right. Toledo starts at Arizona, then goes back out west to the high elevation of Wyoming, to come home and face its rival, and both Northern and Western are on the road.

Arizona- L, Last time the D played well the 1st half, but the O could not move the ball.
Wyoming- L, Good Wyoming team and the thin air may prove to be too much.
Bowling Green- L, Offensive Issues
Coastal Carolina- W, Duh
Western Michigan- W, Western is way overrated this year
Central Michigan- W, Close game though, Central is the most experienced team in the MAC
Eastern Michigan- W, Could it be close this year? No
Bearcats- L, Although playing them mid-season may give Toledo a better a shot
Buffalo- W, It's Buffalo
Ball State- W
Norther Illinois- L
Akron- W
From what I have watched, our O-line is getting trucked by our D-line and the Offense is starting slow....
Bold Predictions:
1.) Our D will give up 20 points a game or less.
2.) Our special teams return team will be great.
3.) Our O scoring production will be good if we can run the ball effectively. If not we won't score enough to be .500
4.) Russel can be big for the Rockets if he gets the ball in space.

Zona +7 (I think we will split the first two games. Either heat or altitude will get us)
Wyoming -2
BG -10 (close game)
CC -21 (too much for an FCS team)
WMU -2 (barn burner in zoo)
CMU -6 (CMU will be tough, and we could drop it if we aren't careful)
EMU -17 (EMU is over-rated)
Cinci -10 (Cinci loses everything from last season. Big win in front of a sell out)
Buffalo -21 (We can't be stupid about this game but Buffalo is a 4 win team at best)
Ball State +14 (wakeup call)
NIU -14 (Woken up and drill NIU)
Akron -28 (It's Akron)
MACC vs. OU -10 (West > East)
Troy in Godaddy -14 (MAC> SBC)
Word out of practice is it's a better team than last season. I tend to agree.
I don't know what some of you guys are thinking........ This is going to be a 10+ win season. They're going to make a lot of noise out West to start the season off. The team is loaded and will score in bunches!!!!!! If the D can keep the scoring against average down under 20 per game. It will be a very fun football season.

So start saving your money for the bowl trip!!!!!!!!!
Hate to be Eyore but I see seven wins, maybe eight. We'll start 2-2, lose two MAC road games and maybe to Cinci. Can't see how this team will be better than last unless we have a bunch of receivers that step up like crazy. Running game will be solid but will be keyed on unless we can get the ball to the receivers. Defense should be better (HAS to be better) but how much better can we get when we were routinely giving up 40+? Special teams always stink. The more I write the worse we get. I am just sick about this!
I don't think the running game will be near what it was with Adonis and Williams.

This team will be so much better than two years ago when the Rockets only lost 1 MAC game and by the end of the season surpass the 2011-2012 team. Look at the whole 2011 MAC FB seasons who won, lost, by how much, where and when. Then see what they lost in term of personnel, production, and what they got to replace it. I see the Rockets and either OU or BGSU in the MACC.
Coach Campbell said the standouts this week in camp were two named defensive players and the offensive line.
