NEW ORLEANS – College football fans will have more opportunities to watch Sun Belt Conference teams this fall as the league announced today that six additional games will be available on ESPN3.

The six games selected for ESPN3 adds to the growing list of football coverage that the Sun Belt Conference and its institutions are directly responsible for. In total, 28 games are currently scheduled to be carried during the 2012 football season because of the Sun Belt and member institution’s willingness to deliver games.

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members. It is currently available to 73 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks.

ESPN3 Games Announced on August 2

August 30

Texas-San Antonio at South Alabama – 6:30 p.m. (CT)

September 8

Akron at FIU – 5 p.m. (CT)

September 22

Troy at North Texas – 6 p.m. (CT)

September 29

Western Kentucky at Arkansas State – 6 p.m. (CT)
FIU at Louisiana-Lafayette – 6 p.m. (CT)
North Texas at Florida Atlantic – TBD
Drew Champlin had posted the Troy schedule with TV notes. It seems most of our games will be available on either an ESPN outlet or CSS.

I'm hoping USA takes care of business, which I have no doubt they'll do.

Maybe you need some doubt. Game between the two teams last year went to overtime.
This may be old news but it's been reported that the LAMAR at UL game on Sept. 1st will be on ESPN3.com too.

Im not to worried about it. USA is going to have a packed out stadium (I plan on going and supporting our new conference mates) and UTSA is going to run into a bandsaw. :noisycricket:

USA fans said the same thing last year and escaped in OT lol
I don't see the significance of sunbelt conference games being on esnp 3 and espn u...the majority of the us population doesn't watch either one and could care less about a sunbelt game playing on either network...especially on a Saturday when every other college football game is on. Sorry, im not trying to be negative...but its somewhat true. Regular cable television offers espn and espn 2...plus the other television networks such as ABC, FOX Sports, etc. I could go more in depth, but im not going to...im sure yall somewhat see my point. Again, im not trying to be negative...its just how i see it.. someone feel free to change my perspective.

In other words...its not much bragging about in my sense of understanding.
Neither team has been sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

Last year the Jags pulled out a good victory in a hostile Alamo Dome.

I can't wait for the rematch in the friendly confines of Ladd.

One of the things I love about Ladd is when the fans get rowdy, you can feel the old girl shake.

it really was a nice stadium for the bowl. minus location, slippery concrete ( although i did get a number out of saving a nice sorority girl from a fall COGSCOGS) and outcome of game.

Hey, we know Ladd is a dump, but 40,000 seat stadiums don't fall out of the sky, you know. The sad thing is.. Ladd is actually a lot nicer now than it was 20 years ago. Rust everywhere...Splinters in all the benches..You should have seen it back in the late 80's early 90's.

Yea, Ladd does shake. She is 60 years old.
ok...orrr lets just ignore my post...good talk.

It's important to out-of-town alumni and fans, like myself, to have an opportunity to see my team play.
Also, recruits/commitments get a chance to see the team play and their families place a value on being able to tune into their son's games in the future, so showing them that it happens regularly is helpful.

I understand how you feel but I absolutely loved the fact that I got to see 4 games I would've had to pay to 10 bucks each for on my laptop instead of my TV for free via xbox/espn3. I also got to keep an eye on 2 or 3 other SBC games last season, I don't see how you can complain when it's free.
