They have OhioU, Toledo, Miami(OH), NoILL, BGSU and WMU all bowling. Unfortunately, no expectation of CMU bowling.

NMR = Would love to see their Alamo match-up between Texas and Utah work out.
The amount of teams out of the MAC bowling sounds reasonable but I'm not sure about the matchups and where teams are heading.

Palm has Toledo in one of the very best spots, New Year's Day Dallas TX vs. Purdue. When Ohio wins the MAC that is where I think they'll be going but to play Houston instead since Ohio State and Penn State aren't bowl eligible.
. OU can go undefeated with their schedule. Orange Bowl perhaps... 03-lmfao

People at UT have been telling me the MAC #1 goes to Potatoeland this year... how's come there isn't an easy answer and not everyone knows where the top 3 picks go?

Unless Potatoeland wants to switch it up from last years teams. I think it's all so hard to think about this early. OU can go undefeated with their schedule. Orange Bowl perhaps... 03-lmfao

This year it looks like Central Florida has the best chance of earning a BCS run followed by Houston and Boise.

Next year however, UCF, Houston and Boise all have an automatic bid with the Big East and Ohio will have a senior QB with the only BCS opponent on the schedule lackluster Louisville. 2013 the Bobcats have a much better chance.

The Pizza Bowl gets the #! MAC team this year. I don't think the Potato Bowl ever gets the #1; it's rotated between the Pizza and GoDaddy, com Bowls under the current agreement.

UCF jsut got slapped with a bowl ban this year...
UCF's bowl ban will probably not take effect until 2013 since they're going to appeal it.
I don't believe a MACC winner can go to Dallas (even if they wanted to), as they must be chosen to fill one of the two top MAC bowls (Detroit or Mobile). This was installed to gaurantee the MACC winner never got bypassed for MAC teams with better records (from the other division) say for example if the schools with the 3-4 best W-L records were from one division but the weaker division team managed to win the MACC. This stipulation also alllows the Detroit bowl the flexibility to pick a strong drawing "home team" from the MAC west - even if it was their year to take the champion and the champion was a distant eastern team, while the MACC runner-up was a nearby school.

I believe that the other division winner (the MACC runner-up) also must be selected as one of the MAC's regular commitments.

Even if they have dumped those stipulations (and they might have), a replacement selection (like the Dallas destination would be) must be slected after the MAC's 3 regular commitments are filled. You're asking both Detroit and Mobile (as well as Boise) to all take a school that is lower seeded, that likely has a less attractive W-L record, and is a non-champion instead of a champion anyway - which would be a stretch even without the stipulation.

If you wanna go to Dallas - you gotta lose your division or expect 2 or 3 bowls to trade down willingly.

How quickly are bowl ban appeals handled?

I'm trying to remember the last appeal.

Would six bids be a record for the MAC?

Is the current record five?

USC appealed their recruiting sanctions and dragged it out for two years so their bowl ban seasons had 85 roster players. This is the first year of their restricted 75 scholarships.
I would want Miami's spot against Notre Dame

Six bids would be a record for the MAC....

Who would have thought that could ever happen 15 years ago?
I think there are issues...

BOB St Pete bowl gets to pick a Sun Belt team before a MAC team (they did last year)...so a Sun Belt team would more likely get that bowl before the Independence and Pizza bowls.

That moves BGSU to the NM bowl (which we have a true secondary tie in) vs Fresno St ...and the Pizza bowl still with some Sun Belt opponent.

This leaves the Independence bowl without a opponent vs WF.

ALSO
The NM, BBVA and BOB bowls must be filled before the Ticket City bowl.

If ND ever played in a bowl vs a MAC school they would force the bowl to get the weakest team.
WOW... Win the MAC & play FIU... What a prize :/
I don't even see the Big Ten filling that Ticket City Bowl slot vs. Toledo.

OSU will be bowl eligible this year.
Penn State....maybe, maybe not. Throw in two BCS bids like they did, add in Minnesota and Indiana as very unlikelies, and you have 6 teams left, and I doubt all will be eligible.

Its better than playing Western Kentucky...
