It's a lofty proposal, reminiscent of the ambitious goals such as the Grammy awards in the past. We have, like back then, competition. But, like back then, I admire the ambition and vision behind such a pursuit.
First, it was the American Queen. Then three more boats announced stops (each I believe planning one visit a year, to start). Now this! Talk about a rebirth in riverboat transportation and a true refocusing on our riverfront. I hope we get this! The comment from Wharton doesn't instill the most confidence, lol... But I do not fault anyone with the city for thinking big!

"We have submitted a proposal and we have not heard or seen anything to indicate we've been dropped" from consideration, said Mayor A C Wharton. "We did it because cities have to build on their strengths and not every city has a great waterfront like we do."
