Is all this positivity a bad thing? I'm on the record saying that GoL does a poor job of keeping the team focused. I've seen UCF be picked to win many times, and it usually ends poorly.
Agreed, the team cant stay grounded when they have this kind of attention. This is what happens then we lose to FIU or in this case Akron.
I'm hoping that the fact that the hype destroyed last season will keep us grounded. GOL seems happy with the senior leadership and that is key in keeping expectations in check.
Seeing the hype as a fan has been great especially when thinking back to some of the good teams we have fielded in the past and hearing fans complain about not getting an love in the preseason polls and by media in general.

With the team specifically, I hope last season shows what happens when there is too much focus on BCS hype from the players and coaches and not enough on game plan. Lack of solid senior leadership, a quarterback that seemed to quit a little too fast, a lack of good line play and no potential fixes made by the coaches led to a suffering season.

Crossing Fingers for what seems to be good senior leadership, some new coaches in the mix, and alot more depth and experience at most positions leads to developing that perfect season before entering the BEast
Good luck this year guys...

can't wait to see you in the nBE!!!!

Thanks for the support. We're hoping this year goes well, but at the very least, it is important for one of the nBE teams to win CUSA this year. While one of us winning won't garner a lot of respect in the greater college football community, four teams entering the BE that could not win CUSA their last year would reflect poorly on the conference.

I'm going to be rooting for the Bearcats this year and beyond. The BE needs some schools to dominate and I think UC can be the next BE powerhouse. And the fact that they aren't constantly pimping themselves out to other conferences is helpful.
I would argue Cincinnati was a powerhouse already.

They won the conference when West Virginia, Pitt, and Syracuse were around.
Thanks guys....we have had a pretty good run since 2007. Hope we keep it going!

We are waiting on the TV contract to see what kind of money will be avail for expanding Nippert and renovating The Shoe...both need done badly.
Im impressed with your crowds at the UCF football games and am excited for you to come into the conference! I think you and USF can make the War on I4 a BIG deal and a marquee conference rivalry game (along with UC/UofL...Keg of Nails).
