Dimwit democrat mayor of Boston vows to block any attempt by Chick Fil-A to open restaraunts in Boston because....

Chick Fil-A CEO stated publically he is opposed to Gay Marriage.

The GAY AGENDA crowd is becoming more like a bunch of NAZI's. Truly amazed that a lifestyle can dominate the political decisions of so many.
A democrat seeking to harm people financially who disagree with them.

What a shock.
I don't understand why any business would make such a statement in the first place. It is simply stupid. I have zero problem with people removing patronage from any business responding to market signals. I oppose ALL government interventionism in this regard and the Mayor of Boston should be ashamed of himself. This is just another example of using the force of government to effect social change in regard to an issue in which the principle of non aggression has not been broken. 03-puke

I don't understand why any business would come out in support of Gay Marriage either, but more do that. I applaud Chick Fil-A for holding to the values of their founder.
Chick Fil-A makes no secret of their values and beliefs. I am surprised that the mayor of Boston wouldn't reject them for any number of their basic tenets. But sticking to those tenets has worked pretty well for Chick Fil-A. That's the beauty of a true capitalist system. Those who agree with Chick Fil-A can support them and trade with them. Those who don't are free to go elsewhere.
I don't care about their moral viewpoint. I only care that their food tastes good, their restaurants are clean, the food is cheap enough, and their service is good.

Agree.

It's a dumb move. Gay people eat chicken sandwiches too. Your political beliefs should not involve your business.

So far, it hasn't proved to be a dumb move. They've made their beliefs known very clearly, and it has worked pretty well for them.

Gay people eat chicken sandwiches, for sure, including a lot of my gay friends. They may not get their sandwiches from Chick Fil-A, but plenty of straight people do for them to be successful.

I think it's entirely appropriate for gay people to boycott Chick Fil-A if they choose to do so. And it's entirely appropriate for straight people who are Christian fundamentalists to shop nowhere else. That's how people vote in a capitalist economy. Of course, none of those fundamentalists will be going to Chick Fil-A after church on Sunday. If enough gay people and friends of gay people vote for McDonald's or BurgerKing or whomever instead, then Chick Fil-A may have to change their tune. So far, that does not appear to be happening.

Exactly. Plus eventually this Christian fundamentalists are going to get tired of eating chicken sandwiches.

Chick Fil-A can oppose Gay marriage and still treat Gay people with respect. The two positions are not mutually exclusive.
Exactly
His views have always been known. He did nothing more than confirm them. Anyone who now suddenly has a problem is slow.

So I guess he's opposed to mosques and catholic churches, too.
Got no problem with the mayor speaking for himself, but he is saying all Bostonian must be forced to have limited choices.
Some of the Original Chik -Fil-a Restruants in Atlanta are called "Dwarf House Restruants."

Some of the militant "Little People" groups protest this as well.

People will find reasons to be offended about everything. The children's movie Pirates Band of Misfits had to change a scene on a Leper boat, because a Leprosy rights group was offended by the scene which was quite funny. Honestly, how many people world wide have Leprosy? But their protest caused a muti-million dollar movie to add cost to edit that scene from a Leper Boat to a Ghost Ship.

Have you seen Chick Fil-A's financials? They aren't exactly hurting for business. In NC it's one of the most lucrative franchises out there. Always packed, and I've never seen one close.
It's refreshing to see an individual not afraid to say what he personally believes. Also refreshing ot see a company that stays true to it's morals. I admire them for not being open on Sundays even though there have beeen many times I've complained about that policy after having a Sunday afternoon craving for Chick Fil-A sandwich.

Also one of the HARDEST franchises to get. When I lost my job in March, I applied with several companies for franchises. All but Chic Fil-A approved my prelimiary application. Chic Fil-A requires owners to be operators on site and you only get one store, Period. IF approved you move to the city where an opportunity opens, you don't get to pick your location.
