We always allowed students to sit anywhere (as in concetrated student seating on the visitor's side) but the WAC has a rule, due to certain events that occurred, forcing the students to be outside the 25 yd lines.
Does the Belt have any such rule?
Just wondering because it takes something away forcing the students to be in the endzones or to have lousy seating; especially since they are footing a good portion of the bill.

we have a 'no sledgehammer' rule at western from our gateway days but no sun belt rules.

i don't know if fiu has a 'no thuggery' rule from their u of miami fracas or not.

our students have the whole middle section downstairs right behind the opposing team. this includes the whole group of tuba players.
In football, our most rowdy and vocal students line up directly behind the visitors bench. They heckle the players the entire game.

All students get in free to FAU Athletic events when they present thier current Owl Card.

For football, the entire southern endzone is the student section (and Band). I believe that area holds around 6-7K. No Bleed over allowed I think.
For Basketball the non bench side is the student section. If it fills up and there is room they are allowed to bleed over to the Bench section.
Our student section is on the visitor side next to the band Probably from the end zone to about the 35-40 yard line, depending on how large the student turn out is. Which in the last 2-3 years is VERY large
So, basically, there is no Belt edict on this and it is an individual U decision on seating.

Good to hear. We always had the students behind the visitor's bench but we had to move them, at least for this season, due to the WAC rule.

LOL. No Sun Belt Conference rule as far as I know.

I wonder if WKU has a 'no cabra' rule for students or not.

FIU's student section is located in the eastern endzone seats plus 2 sections in northeast section.

No such SBC rule...unless Benson gets any ideas before next year.

Most SBC students get in free ...if I remember right students even get in free to SBC Championship events as well.
At UNT there are 8,000 student seats behind the visitor's bench.

This is true, present your student ID in Hot Springs and you get into the games for free.

This is true for any SBC event, even those at campus sites
South's student section is also set up behind the visitors, and goes from right around the 50 down to the 20 or so, then the band is next to them.

the fratboys most certainly have a 'no cabra' rule at western. (well earned imo....to this day i do not understand why fraternities exist....other than to molest agriculture and urinate on one another)

since fiu is smack dab in the middle of the voodoo mecca of the us and home to many students from 'superstitious' cultures the cabras at fiu prolly have bigger worries than getting molested.....like being sacrificed. 04-cheers

Come on...You are talking South Florida here. It's apparent folks in Miami are less fond of cabras than WKU students in your area of Kentucky....Now, if you say chickens in Miami....then you are talkin', but not yet done on campus by students....that I recall at least. Those folks usually don't go to football games, so the 'no pollos' rule will not apply much...04-cheers

you say done by students. i say done by fratboys. i do not consider fratboys as students. unfortunately they are allowed to exist at western so they do have a tenous though generally embarrassing connection as students.

To be fair, you, being from WKU, don't have a good perspective of what fraternity life is about.
It's not like that anywhere else that I know of.

It's not like that anywhere else that I know of.

and you being from yee-haw arkansas are on some different plane???. you gotta be kidding...right?

it was in the nashville metropolis of murfreesboro where 'fraternal brothers' urinated on one another. it's not a wku problem. it's a nationwide problem with case after case of perversion being perpetrated by quasi-students.

just google 'confessions of an ivy league fratboy'

now maybe the ivy league isn't quite on par with a 'good perspective' of fraternity life like such an enlightened collection of dorks in the natural state but I'd 'bet the bloodlines at dartmouth equal or best what asu has to offer.

you have no defense for fraternities. they offer nothing positive to society or the university experience.
I was speaking more towards the immoral violation of livestock.

no you weren't. you implied that western's idiots weren't a fair representation of other frat-bags. implying....i assume from the asu in your name that asu frat-bags are different.

my stance is all frat-bags are bags and do nothing more than embarrass whatever institution that is hosting them.

back to the original topic of student seating. there's no need for bag-seating at games since by and large the frat-bags never come to games.
