Most likely will be for the exact same deal. It's probably the reason why the Pitt lawsuit against the BE has disappeared off the face of the planet.
Crap! I'm excited to have you guys in the conference. When there was no date it wasn't really waiting. Now that there is a date, I will have to wait. I'm not very good at waiting.

I'm seeing a little conspiracy here. I think Pitt & SU got together and decided one would sue an the other would negotiate. Who ever got out first would effectively open the door for the other. Well played! 01-ncaabbs

There was a comment on the CR board about currently scheduled OOC games. Lots of time to work out details but I can see a transition period to get to the 9 game schedule. Hopefully not more than a year or two.

Welcome South Brothers!
Nearly everyone is prepared to play 9 next year. I don't see there being a transition period at all. You can't have some playing 8 and some playing 9.

With regards to Pitt, they are suing the BE for costs associated with schedule changes as well and arguing for not paying anything over the 5 million. I guess as long as they don't spend 2.5 million on the lawsuit, it's worth it.
Great news!! Glad a decision was finally agreed to.

IMO the timeline was agreed on a while ago.

Just the exit fee was being negotiated.

Agreed! Just glad it is finished.
It's best for Pitt to just pay and move on.
The ACC will get screwed if Cuse is the only one coming in 2013. So this is a bit odd that they wouldn't have jointly worked a deal out.

I tend to think Pitt will drop the lawsuit and pay the 7.5 and move on.
This is very good news!

Pitt will not be in the BE for 2014. The settlement terms may be slightly different for Pitt because of the lawsuit, but Pitt will join at the same time that Syr does.
I hear a chorus of Cuse fans chanting...

Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
Yay so glad to have Syracuse in place of a cupcake home game that would give FSU more money! ACC did us a great favor by plopping a NY team with bad football in the division too instead of giving us Ga Tech! Love this conference!
I thought it was going to cost $20 million extra to get out early? I wonder if anybody is still singing that tune on the CR/Big East boards.

Well... really they were saying $10 million. Figuring WVU paid $20 for 2 years early and Pitt and Cuse would have to pay $10 for getting out 1 year early. They were wrong regardless. Hopefully Pitt gets their lawsuit resolved and joins us next year as well. It would play havok with the schedules to only have Cuse join.
