Actually I agree with 83msu on this. In the CA, Stokes is said to be recruiting Memphis schools a but for UT.
East Tennessee fans will tell you how much crime there is in Memphis, to them...Memphis is a toxic dump they'd rather not discuss.
I've lived in Knoxville,TN and thanks to the Kiffin and Pearl years of coaching, we also know there is a great deal of crime in Knoxville too.
(And we're not talking about ordinary Knoxvillians...we're talking the STUDENT ATHLETES.)
Who cares what he does. Lets see if the Vols win big next season. If they do then recruiting will be easier in Memphis, if they dont, then its a non-issue. Memphis simply needs to have a better season than UT. According to everyone on this board UT sucks, so that should be easy to do.

I would recruit to whichever school I attended. This is a really asinine statement. He made his bed in his hometown. If he doesn't succeed at UT then he will not have a big welcome back party. Other then that I don't care.
Growing up, I'm sure he had no intention of going to UT. But when you join a team, for whatever reason, you want to see that team succeed. Doesn't matter though. We'll always get the top kids regardless.
I have no issue with him recruiting to his team.

Well, I hope he is proficient at sliding up the lane to stop dribble penetration and then turning to watch Tarik dunk the ball. Their guards attempting to stay in front of Joe, A Barton, and CC on the perimeter was rather comical.

I really don't care if you think its an asinine statement or not. I still don't understand why any black athlete (ok maybe the money) would go to ut given the feelings of so many of the fans. And if they speak ill of Memphis, they are talking about the city where Stokes grew up and his family. He is a very good BB player and I don't wish him any ill will. But I don't get it.

I think Stokes has realized two things...
1) In choosing UTK, he's going to be forced to stay in college ball a little longer and
2) He may be the star, but he's not going to win much else with the players they can attract there.

Do you have the same feelings about why white players would come to Memphis? Sounds like a racist and shallow synopsis of the actuall situation.

I don't imagine he will have much of one either way, but I don't really keep up with UT players.

It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that Stokes is having a legitimately good time playing in Knoxville with Cuonzo as his coach.
