I'm not too sure how FIU's culture would go over in Troy, some...colorful characters down in Miami.

In no particular order:

ULMs grove tailgate area and scoreboard.

Cajun hospitality when we played in the Katrina Bowl in 2005...fun time had by all ASU fans!

UNT...moved out of that dump called Fouts Field! I always hated sitting in pigeon crap there!

UALR...nice basketball arena and video boards...otherwise can't stand them!

MTSU unicorn mascot!? Gay kissers! You just never know what kind of surprise awaits you at MTSU!

WKU...I hate to admit I kinda like the blob mascot.

FAU...new stadium...nice!

Troy...nice FB stadium.

USA...probably the reason the SBC got the Mobile Bowl!

Texas St....location and nice new FB stadium upgrades.

Ga. State...Atlanta market...maybe we can eventually steal a spot in the Chic-fil-a Peach Bowl with GSU in our conference.

What impresses me most about Sun Belt Conference members is how ardently they all pull for each other to succeed.

And from a purely aesthetics standpoint, I am envious of Troy's mascot/uniforms. Those things are sweet.

I want them to bring back the Silver pants!

stAte and Wake Forest do the same bit. Still cool, nonetheless.

Pigeon crap? That was fan crap for having watched some bad football for too long a period of time as we watched one bad hire after another come thru Denton and not one over .500 in career wins when they left.

First time I sat in Fouts Field was Hayden Fry's first game to coach there as Mean Green coach and I said back then: "Jeez, our school really needs to build a new football stadium." (That oval track really kept our fans away from the field of action and there was absolutley no accoustics inside that stadium to sustain crowd noise). I was 22 years old back then and at age 60, we finally got'er done! LOL!

PS: In all fairness, we were playing quite a few of our Big Name opponents at Texas Stadium and even the Cotton Bowl on a few occassion and that during the State Fair of Texas.

Athletic Director Fry never felt compelled to build a new on campus stadium because of that, too, and that to me I felt was Fry's greatest un-done project the time we had him. Back then, he still had mucho many friends in high places in Dallas because of his SMU years and many of them loved ol' Hay'Boy after he left SMU. Some of them I always felt would have helped him fund a new on-campus stadium. Hell, even the late, great Lamar Hunt's wife (Norma) was a North Texas graduate.

A reasonable amount of student fees for athletics. Louisiana schools get less supplemental funding than anyone else.

stAte - I love the similarity between them and my school. Good fanbase for all sports, outside of my school, I feel they have the most potential in the conference.
Troy - Strong football tradition and for a more personal reason, I was born in Dothan, just down the street from Troy.
MT - Friendliest opponent fanbase in the belt. Our games on the field are always rough smash mouth games, but at the end of the day, our conversations are always friendly.
WKU - Everything about their basketball program, from success on the court, to the monster crowds they draw.
FAU - Rusty Smith, He just was a good drop back QB. I'm still hoping he gets a shot in the NFL
USA - I hate yall in baseball, but that made for the best baseball rivalry in the entire conference. Kittrell was a great man, and the chess matches he and robe would have were classic.
ULM - I can't lie, I liked the grove when I tailgated there in 2005. I wish that we had a nice area like that around the stadium for tailgating.
TxST - Yalls baseball program. I actually watched yall play someone (I think Marist) years ago during the mardi gras tournament at UL. I stuck around just because I love baseball, but loved watching yall play. You will fit in well in the SBC baseball wise. (also to point out, since it was just TxSt Fans in the crowd, very few UL fans, and no Marist fans there for the game, I ended up walking away with like 3 foul balls.)
Georgia State - The Georgia Dome, I really don't know much about the program there.
UALR - Fan Support for basketball. You actually do pretty well drawing fans, which is pretty surprising for any team who doesnt field a football squad.
UTA - You're in the sunbelt.

UNT - I had a great time tailgating with yall the last season of the old stadium before the cajuns game. It was nice to see people bringing random cups over to our tailgate spot trying to get some of the gumbo we made, it made me feel like we were better at cooking gumbo than we probably really are.
FIU - Baseball and Garett Wittels. I hate turd Thomas, but for years I always loved watching the running style of offense they had.

One thing I love about all of the SBC is that the fan bases are true to the core, no bandwagon fans, the uniforms are classic looking (with exception to UL, who made their modern uniform look great!), and all the stadiums are at least decent with room to expand!
StAte - Stadium layout, crowds from last season. I have a lot of respect for A-State
FAU - Love the classic uniforms and the same red, white, and thick blue stripes on the helmet, jersey, and pants. The new stadium and the rest of campus. And finally the people and strong support from the Greek life community
FIU - Losing to FAU
UL - Stadium and tailgating, uniforms, fan base. I have a lot of respect for UL
ULM - cool helmet, best looking one in SBC
MTSU - those light blue jerseys with white pants and silver helmet, AWESOME! Big stadium with new suites, large gorgeous campus. Lots of respect for MTSU
UNT - New football stadium is a gem! Love the green and white home uniforms, very traditional looking. Great campus and great Greek life culture. Respect for UNT
USA - I like the uniforms and the layout of the stadium. From above the stadium looks great!
Troy - Football culture, stadium. A lot of respect for Troy
WKU - Stadium, best uniforms in the SBC, basketball arena and culture, campus, mascot, just about everything. Lot of respect for WKU
