CBSSports.com Eye on College Football
Illinois's NAIA Lindenwood-Belleville is making a couple of firsts this year--it's their first season of college football, and they'll be the first team with a field inspired by the peppermint industry. More here: http://thesouthern.com/sports/lindenwood...f887a.html

That's going to be annoying to play on...and to watch!
Football is becoming a joke
Once their kids get used to that eyesore, it will be a real home field advantage. It will be distracting as hell to opponents.

I think we should paint a field our colors. Green field/gold yard numbers and end zones.
Jesus Christ...
And I thought Boise state's field was ugly.
I'm sure somebody will mention how it became a rule after boise state came up with the blue field that all FBS turf has to be green. lets just go ahead, point out its not true, ignore that myth and move along in the conversation
why ld, a little jaded are you?
Was Boise State a "pioneer" or just another fad? We are seeing additional new unconventionally colored fields around the nation as schools move to newer types of "turf" to replace real grass. Even agricultural schools are looking at it as a cost-saving factor. Once a school decides on "turf", color choices are just another factor to consider since it can be made in just about any color. UAB should consider a field using its colors in a way that gets it as much attention around the nation as possible. I would like to see the OCS done with an alternating grid of gold and green with appropriatley shaded numbers and grid lines and the endzones in gold.
I don't think it's as bad as Boise or Eastern Washington.
I like it. Central Arkansas has the purple and gray thats pretty nice also.
I like Hidalgo High School's turf. The navy is easier on the eyes.

West Hills High in California even has a two-tone blue field.

Maybe so but it's still more entertaining than baseball.

I think we should use our school colors green and white. A green field with white for the markings on the field. You use our accent color gold for a uab logo (the uab monogram) in the end zone. If you really want to go crazy gold end zones with green uab monograms
