Roback's "commitment" to Eastern got me wondering; when was the last time a D-1 QB was selected from the metro Toledo area? Gillette at EMU perhaps--anyway there haven't been many. However, the next could be the Kiser kid from Central Catholic... now I will admit I know nothing about this kid but he seems legit. What the scoop on Kiser?

Guy from Start played for Central back when Bruce was playing.
Kent Smith

Valdez out of Southview is headed to BG. He looked very solid against Canton McKinley last year. Previously they had Whalen, who became a WR, one of Luck's favorite receivers.

EJ (or was it DJ) Tucker was headed here but that fizzled.

Both Anthony Wayne and BG had QBs go to MAC schools recently, I think.
There's a QB on BG's roster from the Toledo area, though I believe he is actually a preferred walk-on.

Kizer's likely heading to a BCS school. He already has offers from 5 different BCS schools. He's the real deal.....big-time dual threat QB.
Comparing Roback and Kiser, both big, strong and mobile but there was a certain feeling when Kiser was on the field, he was in charge. He was looked to. One of those intangible feelings one gets when looking at someone. It was obvious early on and I suspect will continue to be so. I posted over a year ago, (pats self on back) that he was the best QB playing presently and one of the best I've seen out of the area, he was only an early Soph. Time will tell I suppose.
Only a junior, Kizer* already has offers from schools such as Nebraska, Louisville, Boston College, Syracuse, and even our boy Tim Beckman has offered him a scholly at Illinois. Schools such as Michigan and OSU are highly after him as well this early on. The kid's 6'4" 205 pounds and has two more years to develop. He also was a starter on the final four Irish basketball team as a freshman. Kizer is the real deal. I would love if Deshone ended up at Toledo. A potential blue chip recruit, he would be a huge get. Toledo has offered him so here's hoping!
