wow... I can't think of a way other than the "new" defense still can't stop the run and we don't get any balance on offense(balance being 70% pass-30 % run). Those two things happen and we could finish worse than UMass.

I hope we go with hazel playing from a three point and Ceilisar(sp?awful) is all conference. We contain the run and make big plays in the secondary. Our 3 backs combine for 1800 yards not including the qb's and Monette will be a 1st team all conference player with 80+ catches(Carders best friend and roommate) 3 other wide out catch more than they drop. Cubit remembers that his system can use the tight eend position and we use the freshman that looked so good in spring ball even flenard if he can hang onto the ball, which would take pressure off those 3 other wide receivers. Add in the oline playing above average and we should win the west with niu and UT at home. Just don't lay an egg andd win the mich mac throphy. Tailgating by Chelies bar will be great for the championship game.

Until we become known as a program that is consistently among best in MAC on Defense, and not just for entertaining passing Offenses, we will continue to be what we are.

Bottom line.

Didn't I hear somewhere that defense wins championships? I could've sworn I heard that somewhere.

MAC defenses are always challenged. Will we find a way to not be AS challenged this season? I dunno. Doubtful but that is why they play the games. I haven't heard a reason to be overly optimistic that our D will be substantially better than last year.

If defense won ships, Ohio would have won the MAC last season. I think who ever gets to 60 first has a better chance Defense is boring!
