Ah, but the catch is this guy has never worked for The Birmingham News. All Al.com employees are keeping their jobs at this point.

Interesting how much press UAT gives their club hockey team. I would not be surprised if they move towards the D1 level with Hockey's increased popularity in the south.

I have always been a proponent of a UAB Hockey team. The biggest expense is the start up and initial purchase of equipment. Oh yea and a place to play. That and fielding additional Women's sports. Perhaps if we get Blazer Boosters going full bore this might be an avenue to explore in the future. We need to reduce our subsidy, all though it is perfectly ok for Tuscaloosa to use it at the tune of over 4 million a year when they don't even need it. (Little fact that gets overlooked when UAB is attacked for subsidy use) and most teams in the country do the same. Football and basketball needs to be on solid ground first. Too bad Tuscaloosa has a head start. We will be accused of copying them in the future.

I'll be sure to be at these games too. Hopefully UAH slaughters them.
I think I may go as well. Maybe if we are not playing that day we can get a nice group up there to support our brothers to the North.
