I never understood how people from Ohio can root against the Buckeyes when they play the other 2nd rate teams in the state....no offense intended.
But why the hatred for the Buckeyes? We are all Ohioans, we are all Buckeyes -- not Bearcats, Rockets, Golden Flashes, Bobcats, or anything else...We're ALL Buckeyes, you can deny it, but it's still true....don't be scared, join the winning side....trust me, it's more fun!

I cheer for the Bearcats. I cheer for the Buckeyes. I cheer for the Bearcats to beat the Buckeyes. I will cheer for Big East teams to beat Big Ten teams. Other Bearcat fans may not like my views, but we all have an opinion. :saber:

well, not everyone went to ohio state. they have no affiliation with ohio state. they do not go there. they never went there. they never worked there. why would they cheer for ohio state?? i live in ohio and could care less about ohio state. i grew up in kentucky and i'm not really a fan of any of those teams either nowadays (accept for maybe western ky).

i never understood that. aren't you a fan of your alma mater?? most people are. more times than not whoever people cheer for is a school that they feel a connection to. most of the time they feel that connection because they went there as an undergrad, grad, or currently work there. that is why not everyone cheers for ohio state. a lot of them just don't care and don't really have any reason to.
I don't cheer for the Buckeyes. I went to UC. I could have gone to OSU, in which case I would have been an OSU fan.
My problem with OSU is the misguided thought of some of their fans that they are better than many of the other Ohio schools. They are better than all the others typically in football (i would have loved to see and OSU-Miami of Ohio matchup last year though). In basketball they are typically not even the second best team in Ohio.
The assertion of some OSU types that UC is a dirty program is laughable from a school that has produced the likes of Katzenmoyer and Clarett. Also they dug their own grave by recruiting violations in the Flint situation.
Some OSU fans are OK, some aren't. Some UK fans are Ok, some aren't. Some Xavier fans (well maybe it doesn't apply to them) :)

I love college football, but I don't have an alma mater. As the song goes, rich man goes to college - poor man goes to work (Charlie Danials if I remember right)...I joined the military after HS graduation in '91, I've been serving since.
BUT, if I did...I would be a Buckeye fan still. I know it. I grew up watching OSU football, I know most of the rest in the state probably feel about the same way....I just figured it would be less common to see people from OH rooting against the Buck than what there are.

First of all, if thats the case then everybody would be Ohio Bobcat fans. 2nd of all people have more pride in their city teams than state teams. Cuz they're closer. Im from Kentuky and I wouldnt dare root for those ****in pussycats. I root for uv because they are around me and I like their program better.If Columbus is 2 hours away and you live in cincinnati why would you root for the team 2 hours away. Plus, OSU is Gay.

So, using your logic everybody in Oklahoma should root for Oklahoma not Oklahoma State or Tulsa, everyone in California should root for UCLA not USC, everyone in Kentucky should root for Kentucky not Louisville or Western Kentucky, Murray State, etc. My god Ohio State fans are insecure. Take this over crap over to the Smack Board and stop flooding our board with trollish garbage.

Some states have more than one big time program, so I can understand why people sould root for UCLA or USC, or Oklahoma St instead of Oklahoma.....Ohio has one.

When Ohio State grows the balls to play UC in hoops, I will start to repect them. Until then, I will root against them. And by the way, most folks still don't think that you won a national championship in football in 2003. Most folks think the refs gave it to you, and that Miami were the real champs that year!
I root for OSU football against everybody but UC (I grew up OSU fan, graduated from UC). I hate OSU basketball because they won't play in-state schools (so they don't have the embarrassment of losing to Wright State, Ohio U., or Bowling Green, let alone UC, Xavier, or Dayton). When they finally get off their high horse and play against the top teams in the state (which is currently very strong!) I will root for OSU basketball to lose every game.

That is a line of total BS. The refs allowed Miami to get the game to OT, therefore they didn't give OSU the game in the end. There were no less than 2 turnovers that the Buckeyes got screwed out of in the 4th quarter that turned into point for the Hurricanes. And this is coming from a UC football season ticket holder and alum. The Buckeyes had a great year and nobody should take anything away from their team that year.

I agree with everything you said mlbUC. Ohio State's title is legit, I'll give them that. The same flack they're getting is the same ones we get when people claim our Final Four run in '92 isn't "legit" because we didn't beat a higher seed that year. It doesn't matter who you beat, you gotthe job done. If find it funny that ever since UC got invited to a high profile, BCS football conference that the Ohio State fans have felt the need on both the UC boards to constantly talk about how great their program is.
I've always hated, will always hate, and will never associate with Buckeyes. An arrogant bunch they are. It's an outstanding weekend when the all seeing, all knowing Buckeyes loose at anything. Funny, I actually like their Coaches, some of the players, ..its mostly the fans I hate. It's not a case of envy, not a case of rivals. It's a deep seated distain for their attitudes, never gracious in victory. Always looking to proclaim their supremacy,,even when they win by the inepitude of the other team. Fans call UC..sUCkers..UM id of course,,scUM. I call them losers.
