Belmont made it to the regionals, representing the ole ASUN once again.

Now that baseball's over, I suppose it's basketball time or time to talk about Northern Kentucky. ??

Who's the favorite this year in Bball?

Post any schedules here if you get em'. Are there any big games which you know are happening? I believe SU is playing UCF again, but I could be wrong.

<trying to breathe some life into this board!>

Go Hats!
new logo at Kennesaw State released today: http://www.ksuowls.com/

Kinda looks like Rice logo meets Batman, but not terrible. The interlocking KS logo I saw on Facebook looks good.
There's also the topic of who gets to host the basketball tourney for 2014-15. Mercer only has 1 year left on contract so it's about that time to announce the next 2 year deal. Let's go Mercer for 2 more years!!

They could shine an "Owl Signal" at basketball games. That would be cool.
SU MBB will host USF this year, and return the favor the year after.

Nice home game for the Hatters. It's been awhile...

I've heard that UCF will host Stetson for men's basketball again this season. I don't know if they're going to make it part of the UCF Holiday Classic again or not.

They can't have Stetson part of the Classic if they want to keep the tournament exempt.
Here's a topic... What in the heck has happened to Florida Baseball in the ASun? JU at the bottom of the standings? UNF really not making the transfer up from D-II, where they were a top notch program, that well. FGCU slowly building, but considering the location on the Gulf side. Stetson Baseball is, well of course, Stetson Baseball. But the rest?
I don't think there is anything wrong. Jacksonville is ONE year removed from an At-large berth into the NCAA. Yes JU struggled this year, but its not a complete collapse of a program. UNF won 31 games this year and beat #1 Florida once and nearly beat them twice. UNF is also in transistion into a new coach and system. I will say you probably need to watch out for them next year. FGCU is learning how to recruit players at the DI level. They were dominate when making the transition up with the DII players on that squad because many were DI kids who wouldn't have qualified at the DI level. Plus, they beat Miami, Florida State and others in the non-con.

The ASun is a damn good league overall. Ranked #10 overall this past year I do believe. I think you have to wait more than one year before you worry about Florida baseball in the ASun.

Elon and Furman to the A-Sun as women's lacrosse affiliates in 2014. Maybe Stetson/Mercer/JU can get some football matchups out of that arrangement as well.
I don't know if Stetson, Mercer or JU want to play those teams. Not a win could be had against those two in football.
Wins, probably no. Paychecks, maybe.
Not usually big enough to matter in the grand scheme of non-scholarship football. Plus, knowing a little about I-AA football I highly doubt Elon or Furman is paying anyone much of anything.
