Of all the college message boards this is the stupidest by far. All you guys talk about is some split way down the road that may never happen. There is not an ounce of foundation to 80% of the nonsense posted here. Its like this last year taught you guys absolutely nothing.

Hey idiot Cincinnati's AD in an article said the Syracuse AD ASKED him about a split as recently as last October. So you tell me since you think you're so smart, why did Mike Tranghese threaten to quit over something that "doesn't have an ounce of foundation" to it? Why don't you worry about your team and conference and stop whining about and b*tching about something you don't have a clue about.
WAVEFAN98 you clearly don't have a clue what is going on with the Big East, so let me help you since you obviously didn't do any research on this, so here's a snippet from an article from a few months ago:

<a href='http://www.enquirer.com/bearcats/2003/11/06/bigeastfolo06.html' target='_blank'>Bob Goin worked to get UC into new league</a>

"I was on vacation in Maryland when I received a call from Jake Crouthamel," Goin said. "He asked me if I cared whether they stuck together or split (into two separate leagues). That meant they wanted my opinion. That pretty much told me we were in."

That sounds credible to me! That is, of course, you believe that an athletic director involved in the process is lying or is uninformed.

Another added note, the Big East members signed a 5 year deal where they will evaluate how the 16 team conference works and whether a split is necessary.
