Quote:"We were led to believe we had a home game all along," Pederson said. "At no point were we told that we wouldn't get a home game. They've put us in a difficult spot. All Jamie and I were waiting on was who we were playing. We're very disappointed, obviously."

The divorce starts to get a lil messy..

Bryan of the Pitt Script blog destroyed the Big East

I'm guessing this is for Hoops so I'll post it here

Quote:There's a rumor that the BE is blocking a Pitt/WVU OOC game according to some bilaw. Not sure how the BE would have authority over OOC tho
After reading about this earlier today I would expect FB/BB officiating to favor the opponent...throughout conference play. Honestly, until today I thought the BE would act like grown ups.
It is what it is GG. The sooner we get out the better.
What's funny is that it sounds like Marinatto was actually acting like a grown-up. The new commissioner, on the other hand, seems to be the one with sour grapes.
Definitely think you're right ndlutz. Up until Marinnato was fired, it seemed like everything was aok. Starting to think there may have an been agreement about to be announced. Hence to why the lawsuit was announced the Friday after he was fired.

Speaking of this lawsuit, any updates?
None that I have seen. I may poke around just for fun, though, to see if I can find out what's going on with it.

My guess is that the next move may be for the Big East to attempt to remove the case to Federal Court but that may not happen due to similar circumstances with the WVU suit. A state can't be sued in Federal Court against their wishes by a general party even if the requirements to remove to the Federal Court are met otherwise. WVU claimed they were the state of West Virginia and therefore could not be sued in Federal Court. Pitt is a public school too. I don't know if they have the same ability to make this argument, though.

It's best for the Big East to get into Federal Court because then they aren't dealing with the Allegheny County officials who could theoretically be biased.
Thx for the info man... Glad to have someone w/ a law background to break some of this stuff down.
No problem. As I have said all along I expect that this will end in a settlement. I do think Pitt is going to have to pay more than just the exit fee to leave a little bit early, though. I am also fairly certain that it won't be an astronomical number.

As the Big East continues to act in this manner, though, I think the case for Pitt to leave as soon as possible will build.
I'm starting to get bad feelings towards the BE, the way they are treating Pitt. But the simple solution is that Pitt wants to play in this challenge, but were told they dont have an opponent, and SU doesnt want to play because they are booked. just let Pitt play SU's opponent and problem solved.

Cuse was to play at ARK. Pitt needs a home game.
By the way is this "acting" Big East Commissioner Dan Gavitt the son of Big East founder Dave Gavitt?
What are the rules for the scheduling? I believe the ACC does 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, etc. I think the coaches determine the rankings.
