In an interview w/ Pompeani of Ch2, he stated that this Bowl Game between the SEC/Big 12 means nothing. He also mentioned what happens if that there are 5 undefeated teams or teams that are ranked 3 to 6 are 12-1 what happens. Seems to me he's more in favor of an 8 team playoff.

btw He spoke very highly of the ACC, I doubt Pitt leaves unless it totally breaks apart. He also seemed to think no one was leaving.
For once he and I seem to be on the same page.
My thought is that the ACC will get blown to pieces or nothing will happen. I'm starting to think more and more that nothing will happen. It'll be interesting nonetheless.
A lot depends on how the playoffs are structured and what the payout distribution is going to be.
Time and time again there are rumors that the apocalypse is upon a particular conference. Time and time again those rumors are overblown. Look at the Big East and the Big XII. If you believed every rumor that has been started about realignment, neither should be around today. They're both still here.

We may lose two teams but I highly doubt it goes beyond that. I'm not really even sold that we're going to be losing anyone.

Is there a pod cast link to this interview? I couldn't find one. I don't live out there so I don't get hear the exact tone on a lot of this stuff.

It means nothing? It means something. What that is, is up to discussion at this point. If he actually used those words I'd not be impressed.

So what's his motivation for these comments? While not likely, he could end up looking wrong by the end of the year.
I couldn't find a Podcast either. Ever since CBS combined the Fan w/ KDKA its hard to find 2 minute interviews on the site.

His exact tone was overall excitement about joining the ACC. He went as far as calling it the best overall conference in America. Yes he could look foolish by the end of the year. But he seemed extremely confident no one is leaving.

I also agree with SP. Nobody is leaving the ACC. The ACC is where Pitt Administration has wanted Pitt to be for a long time. They very much like being associated with the other schools that are in the ACC.
Absolutely agree 7fielder.
