UNCW DEFEATS VCU 8-5 ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON; RAMS WILL PLAY TOWSON LATER TONIGHT

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The VCU baseball team suffered an 8-5 setback to top seed UNCW on Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park.

With the loss, the Rams are dropped into the losers bracket of the tournament. VCU is scheduled to play Towson this evening, with the contest tentatively scheduled for 9 p.m. VCU took the season series from the Tigers in March, winning two of three games.


VCU drops to 33-24 on the season with the loss, while UNCW improves to 36-20.

Final score, VCU 14, Towson 9. Rams live to play another day in the CAA Tournament. VCU will play Hofstra at 3:30 p.m., LATER TODAY!
