First pitch is tonight at 7:05. It's Eric Bedard for the Pirates vs. Gio Gonzalez of the Nationals.

Alex Presley has been demoted to AAA Indianapolis and Evan Meek has been recalled for tonight's game against the Nationals. It's not surprising that we recalled a relief pitcher because with Lincoln making a spot start for Bedard recently our bullpen would have been shorthanded otherwise.

Hopefully Presley works out the kinks in AAA.

Too bad Presley got dropped. I agree hopefully he gets things figured out.

holy sh*t, just saw the lineup... wow just wow, hopefully tonight won't be that bad.
Bedard and Meek get roughed up, Pirates lose 7-4.

Harrison was actually a bright spot in his start tonight over at 3B.
Yea, Harrison's HR was a thing of beauty. Kinda surprised to see Bedard get roughed up the way he did.
Pirates look to split the series with the Nationals tonight in game 2. James McDonald gets the call for the Pirates against Jordan Zimmerman for the Nationals. Both pitchers have sub 3.00 ERAs so it's likely to be a pitching duel. First pitch is at 7:05.

Pedro Alvarez returns to play 3B and hit cleanup. Harrison earned another start, this time replacing Barmes at SS. Let's hope he can continue to swing a hot bat tonight and give the Pirates some much needed spark/run support.

Thanks to a great start by McDonald (11Ks!) and another good performance by Josh Harrison and the bullpen the Pirates were able to split the series with the Nationals.

That's not bad at all. The Marlins and Nationals are both playing good baseball right now. To split with them isn't much to be disappointed about.
Cutch = beast...

JMac is starting to look like an ace if you asked me.
