The jury found Shanterrica Madden guilty of 2nd degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of MTSU Women's Bball Player, Tina Stewart. For those that knew Tina, including me, it is an awesome day! Just wanted to update our fellow SunBelt members on this.
I'll stop short of calling it an "awesome day" when a young person's life has been officially ruined (deserved or not), but I'm thankful for a such a quick trial and verdict.
It's justice for the family. That is what makes it awesome for me.

'justice' in this case probably means this individual will be out on the streets in her mid-thirties...can't say I'm joyful about that...

That is what I still don't get. Obviously common sense did not play a role in this case. Any person with common sense would have chose a petty drug charge over a murder charge. If she had just sucked it up, then Tina would still be alive and Shanterrica's parents wouldn't have lost their daughter to a jail cell for so long. Just a sad story overall.
