They been holding playoffs since 1978 and now want to expand to 24 teams, but the BCS and FBS have no clue as of what to do.... mind boggling! 01-wingedeagle

Instead the BCS would rather destroy conference layouts, friggin' IDIOTS!!! 01-lauramac2

I thought the FCS playoffs was drowning in a sea of red ink....so did the sea just get deeper??
I wish they would just leave it at 16 teams, it really is a perfect number for the FCS and their amount of playoff conferences.
OMG who cares what THOSE guys are doing DOWN there!!!! They are all worthless, worthless DIV 2 nothings!!! like high school teams and such....:)
Yes, it's mind boggling that FCS and NCAA Basketball tournaments are expanding more than necessary, and at rapid rates, yet FBS Playoffs "wouldn't work". Give me an F-ing Break.
Next year, EVERYONE gets a trophy! Hurray!

Have you invited us yet?

you laugh, but complaints about unfair competition amongst some Arkansas High Schools led to a rule here that said that in certain classifications, every single team made the playoffs.

Last year we had a 10-0 team play an 0-10 team in the first round.

This a good thing. All FCS conference champs get a birth in the playoff. This eliminates teams that do not have a winning record from the playoff. The move increases the visability of the FCS division by creating more interest. It also adds 4 games to the TV schedule. Mo Money!
Everybody gets a trophy and orange slices. GaSouthern is right. Sixteen is a big enough number to decide a champion. There are only about 60 or 70 teams that fund enough scholarships to give themselves a theoretical chance.

Actually, now it's more likely to add a team without a winning record into the playoff. Before there was only a few AQ conferences and the rest of the bids at large.
BCS advocates have argued for years that once you start a playoff "bracket creep" is inevitable and eventually the playoff will get so big the regular season becomes irrelevant and regular season doesn't matter.

Excellent timing by FCS to propose expanding the playoff as the BCS debates adding one. :(
