Indeed it is. My wife sometimes watches Nancy Grace on HLN and she watched it tonight....so did I this one time. The whole hour was focused on this story. I have never seen Nancy so emotional, ever.
Like a poster above said, this is straight out of Criminal Minds. I pray that Adam Mayes will not hurt or kill the two remaining girls. I hope that he is more like the "uncle" that someone close to the family described him as, and less like the predatory murderer he already is. I have my doubts though. He has nothing at all to live for.
Where is the Bain husband in all of this? And seriously, this is not the thread to talk about catfish.

That's a terrifying thought.
It's almost like they wanted to get rid of the mom and oldest to keep the younger ones for themselves.
How do people sit around and hatch things in their heads like this
Also think about this. The two oldest were big enough to fight back. So he gets rid of them. The two youngest must be of some value to him personally or on the black market.
Either way, his mother and wife knew parts of his plan if not all and did not turn him in. They should face the same fate he does.
It's scary to me that such Evil walks the face of this earth and looks halfway "normal" like this guy. The video of him in the convenience store with the little girl who bought a drink just after him gave me the creeps.
The manhunt that must be on for this guy out in those rural areas of Tennessee and Mississippi must be a sight to behold. I wouldn't want to tussle with those country officers who hopefully will catch this POS. I wish them Godspeed and pray for those two children.
There has got to be way more to this story. And yes, what kind of minds sit around and hatch this Evil?

I know some of those officers (state troopers) and they are no one to mess with.
Used to spend summers in northeast Mississippi, just up 45 from Guntown. It's been a while since I've been back, but if this guy encounters an officer that has little girls, the end is going to be very violent. Fittingly so.
I hope he doesnt hit him directly so he can enjoy a slow and suffering death alone in an abandoned area for no one to help him.

She had already been charged yesterday with four counts of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping.

How terrorized were those two younger children, driving away from their home in Tennessee with the dead bodies of their mother and sister? {shudder}
There was some speculation that Mayes and Bain were having an affair. Could it be possible that Mayes is the father of the two youngest? (or thinks he is) That might explain why he felt the need to kidnap them, to keep them closer to him and not moving across country to Arizona...although authorities have stated Mayes had connections in Arizona too.
