Hey you EMU fans who post on the MAC board!!!!
Quit going over there and starting so much trouble!!!
I mean... How dare we win a couple of games, beat a few rivals and have the audacity to discuss it in online forums!!!!!

If my sarcasm hasn't come through in print, let me say I'm being very very sarcastic.

That MAC board is something else!!!!! Some people act like it's a crime to be excited about EMU football and have a little trash talk. And what's really funny... EMU fans didn't even start it... Anyway...

Just remember, they kick you when you're down and they love to hate you when you get back up! We're getting up and soon we'll be running... Hopefully all over the MAC West and right down 94 to Ford Field in December!!!!
That's the spirit! EMU is on the rise.

Glad someone replied... I was about to feel like that speech in Animal House LoL
Well everyone, just for the record.. I make sure others knows my feeling and thoughts about this FB team and what the fans expectations are going forward. I encourage everyone to show the other MAC school your team spirit.. Some people will be pissed but it's okay..
While we're going on the record, Pudge I love your enthusiasm about EMU Football.
Keep up the good work!

Those who have seen my posts on the main MAC board know I 'call them the way I see them' and when I get excited by an EMU team it is because I see something which really has caught my attention.

I have seen enough bad EMU teams to know the difference between good and bad.
Dear Friends,
I have never understood the rationale of some of the people from other colleges, and their feeling of superiority over everyone else. Don't misunderstand me here, you can be a fanatic about your school, just don't feel that you have to put everyone else down, or think that you are the best thing since sliced bread.
One of the worst is Chipdip from the Western blog. He thinks he knows everything about college football or basketball, and how that fits into his view of our conference. I haven't seen someone as arrogant as him, except for the enema on the Central blog. Two peas in a pod. If, and when we especially beat either of those schools, those two need to be reminded of what happened.
I have a strange feeling that at the end of the 2012 season, there will be alot of MAC fans really pissed at us because they will realize we are for real and taking no prisoners..

I am sooooo glad to have come along at the right time. I had only heard about EMU because so many kids from IL decided to come to EMU to turn the program around.. English did a great job selling them on the vision to them..

I know for a fact I'll be going to other our competition board(for that week) and letting them know about the new EMU Eagle fb team.. I will be doing it in a joking way similar to last year.. I pray that we are winning...
Every MAC team has one, two, or three posters that are disliked by everyone else due to the reasons you mentioned above.

I expect EMU to do well this year. However, if and when they win, I would recommend not becoming one of those posters for EMU.

I won't boast if EMU wins Men's hoops (west) and contends for the MAC West in FB.

I'll just post the link to the EMU fight song... 05-stirthepot
It's okay to talk trash about your team before the game is played but if your team win you should not brag and boast about the win.. Act like you have bee there before.. There is no need to comment or rub it in because the emotional feeling is still there and they are usually beating each other up on their board.. This is the rule I use. No trash talking after the game ends..
Sounds like you guys have a good handle on it :)

Seeeeeee...
Now the Bears fan in me wants to say...
Ha... What did Barry Sanders ever win though?

But, I'll leave it alone seeing as how the tone of
this thread has been very "Let's all play nice" :-)

WHOA WHOA WHOA....Barry Sanders is the best running back ever to play in the NFL. Now, if he said the "Detroit Lions", then you should go into a rant about how they never won anything. (If you are going to argue that he isn't, I suggest you bring up Jim Brown. Anyone else, including Payton, is just noise)

That's like saying to your girlfriend/wife "hmmm, your butt looks kind of chubby in those yoga pants...but I won't mention it." You just did! You can't mention that topic and not expect to get whopped on the head.

I know, hence the smile....
What I meant was, what did Barry Sanders ever win with the Lions?
Taken from wiki:

"In Sanders' career, he achieved Pro Bowl status in all of his 10 seasons as a pro.[2] Sanders was named first team All-Pro eight times from 1989–1991 and 1993–1997 and was named second team All-Pro twice in 1992 and 1998. Sanders was also named All-NFC from 1989-1992 to 1994-1997. Sanders was named NFL Rookie of the Year in '89,[2] Offensive Player of the Year in '94 and '97, NFL MVP in '97, and was named to the 1990s NFL All-Decade team."

The Lions did not win a Super Bowl. Barry Sanders was the least of their worries. Switch Emmit Smith and Barry Sanders and nobody would even know Emmit's name.

Let's follow the context of the conversation:
Pudge said if your TEAM wins you shouldn't brag and act like you've been there..
Then the Barry Sanders approach was brought up...
So I asked what did Barry Sanders ever win (in context meaning Barry's team).

I take nothing away from Barry's individual accomplishments, because Lord knows they were individual (no o-line, sub par QB play, with the exception of a few years there was very little WR help), but I just find it funny that a Lions reference was made when talking about "acting like you've been there before"... Because clearly... *That would be acting :-)

*In the Superbowl era

Fine...but he was still better than Payton.

^^^^^^^ This conversation is the kind of thing I had in mind when I posted this thread... I, like Pudge, believe there is a GENTLEMEN'S APPROACH to trash talking and that's what I was doing above...
I think the approach was used by the EMU fans on the MAC board, but people reacted like someone spit on their mother...
