Marinatto was asked to resign by the league's presidents Sunday

Big East change of direction?
I thought everything was going as planned in the Big East?

Maybe things aren't as rosy as they would have you believe.
Britton Banowsky to the Big East!
Brit's resume = Well, I have experience as commissioner over a large majority of the teams currently in the Big East.

So did most Big East fans...they probably will continue to think so. At the risk of being beaten about the head and shoulders and branded with a scarlet "I", the level of animosity inside that group is astounding. The reaction behind closed doors to what came out of the initial "BCS re-cartelization" discussions could not have been taken well at BE schools that don't own oblong balls. I'm not surprised to read hints of hesitation from Boise St. and SDSU camps.

On a related note, karma has to catch up to Tom Jurich someday, and that is going to be one helluva debt...

They'll hire Herman as AD-in-waiting. It's the only punishment severe enough.
I imagine if you look up cluster pluck in wikipedia, the Big East will be the first entry.

The few days starting May 21 might be quite interesting.... (Big East spring meetings begin)
ruh, roh.................and nBE posters already getting defensive 03-rotfl
Ok Louisville & Cincy, go ahead & make the move.

The rest of us down here in little bitty conference-ville will be laughing our tails off.

Walking in Memphis ...............
I guess we shouldn't hold our breath on the Jon Solomon article.

We can only dream & hope about that day. He'll run them down just like he's done CUSA under his watch. He's like the Ted McGinnley of commissioners 03-lmfao
Britton certainly knows how to assume the position. He would be great for the Big East when they get raided again.
Today I was wondering why CUSA schools have never run off Banowsky. Then it hit me. Through most of CUSA's history, almost every school, UAB included probably has aspired to move to another conference...and when that opportunity arises, you want a weak ass commissioner like Banowsky to be the one standing in the way. So he has job security because he is so bad at his job
For the CUSA to have been bad all these years, you have the Big East wanting a majority of the teams & the SEC wanting the commissioner & of course now you have half a dozen or so schools wanting to join.

or they realize there was nothing he could have done to prevent it and he did the best possible with the pile of crap handed.
I believe if you would look at the various commissioners of the leagues around the nation, you will find very few (maybe only two or three) who are considered John Wayne types of administrators. They are usually judged according to how wealthy the conference is compared to the rest and that is based on how many multimillionaires can be lined up to pour funds into member schools..

You Banowsky bashers are just like the RAPS crew that convinced voters to vote "NO" on MAPS. You sure know a helluva lot about what he's done wrong to have never, ever, ever (and I know because I've been asking over and over again for years) had a thought to what he could have done instead.

Come to think of it, you guys are the same ones who said Dr. Garrison doesn't care about football or she would have (somehow, miraculously) hired Fisher anyway. Callaway was a failure in year one because he didn't (by defying the laws of physics) win 10 games with less than 60 players. Mackin's a failure because he didn't (with the help of voodoo Shamans and blood rituals to keep PBJr. away) fire Callaway after his third year AND he hasn't (by walking into a BOT meeting in robes and sandals to call down 10 plagues on the heads of the members) gotten our OCS built. I'm sensing a theme here...
