Went to only my second visit to Dickey Stephens park to see the Travelers last night. The park has to be one of the most beautiful in the country. Nice crowd also, but Travelers lost. I'm not enamored of the affiliation with the Angels. Talent didn't seem very good either.
When you have a designater hitter batting .177, that isn't impressive.
Not one player batting .300. And most below .250. When I was growing up, .250 was what your worst hitters hit. Problem is there are too many major league teams. Many players in the bigs now would have been the AAA and AA players when there were less teams, so the talent level for teams like the Travelers would have been much better. Sometimes progress is not!
