Have to admit I said my share of prayers regarding the FSU game at mass on Saturday and during the game.
Maybe Gruehls was manning the prayer hotline in heaven and moved those pro-Bearcat prayers to the head of the line.

it's funny you started this thread, mlb. i was honestly saying the same thing to a buddy of mine after the fsu game as we walked out of bridgestone arena.
never met the guy, but i can't help but think he's had something to do with this amazing run and his presence has popped into my head more than once during this season.
thanks, gruehls

On the FSU game thread someone mentioned this. When I read about Greg in the Enquirer it was news to me that he played football at Northwestern.
Of course I am not surprised that he never mentioned that in a thread that I read. He is going to be missed by many for some time.

Great Thread.
Bowl Win vs. Vandy (Alma mater)
Now the Cats play OSU in the Sweet 16. I am pretty sure one of his kids went to Ohio State.

I also never met the guy, but I read the other thread shortly after his passing and was blown away by the amount of responses and the sincerity they contained. Must have been an amazing person. I also wondered while I was leaving the arena trying to compose myself if he had any hand in this magical season.

Gruehls has probably had a field day antagonizing tOSU fans on the Bucknuts board in heaven.
I guess that assumes some of them get to heaven but they can't all be that bad can they be?

I am betting that Greg will talk UC into some more victories yet. Keep them coming, Greg! You beat us to heaven so we're just asking for a few more favors. ^5's.

I said it in Memphis, that G probably wielded some influence with the Big Guy and Mother Nature to give us outstanding weather for the Liberty Bowl It's all been great in Bearcatland since. Thanks G (both G's that is)
