We have been pretty lucky with the guys Sahly hires, Werner was great, Wood was great. Sad to see Ryan go, but a step up to SEC writing is huge. Don't forget us!
Beat me to it.

He has done a great job.
Sad to see he is leaving but this is the price of success. Perhaps he was able to ride the wave of success our teams have had on the field this year. He was a good writer and I always enjoyed his chats.

Hopefully his replacement will be just as good.
The fact that he got a job covering an SEC school after only about a year here really tells you all you need to know about the job he did here. Best of luck to him.
Maybe Maddogz will become the beat writer.
Let's hope the string of outstanding NIU beat writers continues. Pick another winner, Sahly, and keep him/her here for awhile.

Bobby Narang and John Sahly really set the standard for NIU coverage, so let's hope it continues.

Ha! Can you imagine?

Good bye Ryan, you were great! *smokes cigarette*
As long as Sahly is around, the coverage will continue to be topnotch

Great - we not only lose coaches and players to bigger programs, we lose our beat writers. So, what do we have to do to keep our beat writers from moving on to bigger programs? Have to pay them more I guess. Sounds like a good thread topic for the off-season. 03-wink

Something bigger to beat? 03-confused :schwartz: :yikes:
congrats ryan, thx for your year of service! the level of huskie coverage has definitely gotten night and day better the last few years
So once the new beat guy is in place we have to immediately start speculating what his next job will be, right?

Pretty sure those are the rules of the Huskie internet.

Best of luck to Ryan Wood. He got up to speed fast and did good work. Couldn't ask for anything more out of him.
He better have his A game rolling at all times for those SEC fans. Good Luck Ryan!
Ryan must have been indicted for felony slander against the Toledo football program.
