Let them, along with Tech, maintain "seperation" in the WAC.04-bow
Wow...shades of La Tech. I still hope we take Texas State over this bunch. One year of football huh.....wow...lol.
Human nature is to become delusional when the things you hope for are ceasing to exist. They just need to get out and read more because La Tech is the only thing close to good in the WAC and that's not saying much. We have Ark St, ULL, FIU, and WKU as likely bowl teams next year then you can't count out teams like Troy because we surely have the talent.
I had NEVER heard of this school, up until recently...........

I'd rather have Texas State. They have traditionally had a good athletics program across the board, going back to Southwest Texas days.
03-lmfao....newb's
LMAO @ the consensus that Idaho, NMSU, SJSU, and USU are more recognizable than ASU, Troy, WKU & MTSU.

They're about as arrogant as it gets for fans of schools who have never played a down of FBS football. The truth is, regardless of conference, they won't be competitive until at least 2014.

I haven't visited their board before, but man, that was a complete joke to me. Let them stay in the WAC, I had somewhat eased up to the idea of them in the sun belt, but now I'd like to see them drown on that ship especially since they're not grateful we're offering a steady ship that won't be sinking anytime soon. The WAC still needs two more members. Where are they going to get them and honestly, who the hell is going to care?

From what I see across the board in forums, the majority recognize the WAC as the worst conference, then SBC/MAC are about even for 10th/9th. I guess nobody told them Nevada, FSU, Boise & Hawaii were leaving.
I'm sorry...I just blacked out for a moment...I guess my brain couldn't comprehend that much stupidity.

UNCC fans beg to differ lol

Well... we have one thing in common. We're both not happy about them potentially joining the Sun Belt.
I see one program and only one program out there in play that consistently performs at the Sun Belt median or above in the BCS rankings.

La.Tech.

I don't give a rat's about their TV market (and I don't count Shreveport, because in my time living there recently I saw less Tech stuff there than I see ASU in Little Rock and I don't count the LR market for ASU). I don't care about whatever feelings there may be between the other schools.

What I do care about is that my hunch is that we are going to see big changes in the BCS system. Busting might be harder but it will be far more lucrative. I want schools that can help us bust and right now La.Tech is the only program that clearly helps advance that cause.

People can talk potential all day long but potential doesn't help if the school with potential can't win a non-conference FBS game.

Geez, we get it dude....you guys don't want us to have football and you sure as hell don't want us in FBS before App.
I also want to be clear when I say that they won't be ready to compete at the FBS level until then because I saw a couple of their games, and they dont have the talent yet. It might take longer than that just depends how well they can recruit now that they're at this level.

Now that I think about it, I really want Tx State more than them.
When your football program accounts for nothing how can you be upset about moving up to anything better? **** em' and let them rot in the WAC. I'd rather have Texas State anyway.

Don't even get me started on Charlotte joining the conference. What a joke.

All schools have these types of posters. Overall you guys have had a good experience with our fanbase because some of the positive ones have come over here. There are some, in our fanbase that are like the UTSA fans you are talking about.
The rationale that I hear from them is that the sunbelt is full of directional name schools while the WAC has land grant and metropolitan universities

The say that the Southland is full of directional schools like Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State and we need to get away from that type of branding.

Regardless of geography and stability, they think it worth the risk to be associated with New Mexico State, Utah State, University of Idaho rather than be associated with schools that refer to themselves as South, Middle, And Western.

One of the interesting ideas to come up on the WAC Board was the idea of luring the Cajuns by promising that we will call them Louisiana for all branding

WAC South
Texas State / UT San Antonio
Louisiana / Louisiana Tech
New Mexico State / UT Arlington

WAC North
Seattle / San Jose
Boise / Idaho
Utah State / Denver

the latter having played a few downs but has nothing to show for it.

Pretty much every fan base with the exception of Liberty has flat out balked at the idea of moving up to FBS via the Sun Belt. I don't necessarily blame them; only people who follow the Belt know how much it has improved. Next step in the process is getting more people to follow the Belt...
We don't need UTSA or Texas State. Even if the Sun Belt loses a team or two, we still won't need either of them.
I'm a UTSA fan and I'd love it if we went to the Sun Belt, especially if Texas State and La Tech came too (and North Texas stayed). Maybe add UT-Arlington also.

Western division:

UL-Monroe
UL-Lafayette
LA-Tech
North Texas
Texas State
UTSA
New Mexico State (add them just to even things out plus good basketball)
UTA (non football)

Eastern division:

Arkansas State
Western Kentucky
Middle Tennessee
South Alabama
Troy
Florida International
Florida Atlantic
UA-Little Rock (non football)

In football, play 6 conference games in division and 2 out of division.

Maybe eventually add Lamar (to the West) and Georgia State (to the East) to get to 16 in football.

Have a football championship game that alternated between sites. Possible sites include New Orleans, Dallas/FW, San Antonio, Atlanta (if Georgia State is added).

Sign a TV deal with somebody besides ESPN.

Blow it up!
