I would to love hear it. Other than getting up to speed on the playing field everything about Charlotte is FBS ready.

Oh really! WOW! How ******* exciting! I absolutely C-A-N-N-O-T wait to watch the oh so famous Charlotte (stupid ass name) 49ers play football!

WOO HOO! HELL YES CHARLOTTE! ARE YOU READY FOR CHARLOTTE FOOTBALL!

That's what we need, a school from North Carolina.

Go run along now...

Cute pre-K response. Head back to your mat, get your binky, and I'll get your sippy cup for you.

I know it must be upsetting to be irrelevant. I should have been more gentle since it was our first time. Someone who would be considered pre-K would have probably understood the facetious nature of the post much better than you.
Why don't all the teams that are so "above the Belt" just form their own league and be done with it. They are destined for the national championship game once they get everything in working order.

NMSU, Neck, Texas A&M- San Antonio, Ga State, UNCC, Liberty, Jacksonville State, and Houston freakin' Baptist

Texas A&M-San Antonio?

Texas A&M-San Antonio, formerly known as Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center @ San Antonio. I believe the name was changed a couple of years ago. No sports teams that i know of, but Benson has been in contact and I hear he thinks they could be the next Boise State.

Is that the same Texas A&M- San Antonio that I hear is planning a collaboration with Pizza Hut for a Large Hawaiian Pizza + 4 tickets deal?

I know about that school. It was founded in 2009. They don't play any sports.

If the Sun Belt wants to add a Texas school that doesn't play any sports, I suggest this one:

Junction, Texas is truly a jewel in the rough or a jewel in two roughs.

Only 99% of people who attended a UTSA football home game in 2011 got in for free.

The funny thing is that UTSA might have better average attendance in 2012.

San Antonio had 11,000 for a minor league hockey game the other night.

When Texas State comes to town, we might get pretty close to capacity. I hope a bunch of Bobcats show up and that happens.

I think you mean only 1% got in free. And I don't even think it was that amount. UTSA probably sold more season tickets than anyone in the Sun Belt, some by a large margin.

This coming from a LaTech fan checking out other people's (Sun Belt) board and whining about what is written here???? Hypocrite much???

And as for his critique of UNT fans desire for a more regional conference ala CUSA, isnt that exactly what he and his Bulldog brothers been drooling over over for the better part of a decade?? Maybe this eunuch should take his own advice and grow a pair.

Congratulations. I now understand why you would not want to be associated with 'belt teams.
Anyone can "sell more tickets" than the Sun Belt if they are basically giving them away. What were your prices and how do they compare with the Belt?

You, me and about 13k others. 04-rock
If you sat in the upper deck you were there free...but is that really such a bad way to market a brand new program? While its easy to mock the KFC/PizzaHut promos there is a good reason for them. A UTSA alum owns a majority of the area franchises....and made the first million $ donation for football. He in turn was given an allotment of a few thousand tix which he flipped into the promos. Every one of our sponsors got allotments, though most were in the hundreds. Regardless, its something you can/have to do when you've got 60k seats.

Why the chip on your shoulder? Did BullsFan or I say somewhere that UTSA was too good for the Sun Belt? I'd love for UTSA to go to the Sun Belt if Texas State, UNT, and La Tech were there too. The Texas and Louisiana Sun Belt teams would be a nice, tight footprint western division for the Sun Belt.

LOL. UTSA had 13K season tickets sold at least.

I never even heard about the so called giveaways until partway into season. I don't even think they were available for opener. That was just 57K hard tickets sold.

I paid about 15 bucks a ticket to sit in upper deck to both the opener and South Alabama game, which was the cheapest ticket in the stadium. Don't know what the rest of tix went for but u can see that on UTSA's site.

All these so called "giveaways" are just hyped up by UTSA bashers. In reality hardly anyone got tickets that way. I saw maybe one or 2 commercials for it all year.

well it usually does come from a North Texas fan as if you guys are designated to defend the honor of the Sunbelt. Which is a joke since you have been on other boards practically begging to get in.
How much were your season tickets?

One thing I've seen over and over and over, is fans crowing about their new program or new to FBS program touting huge ticket sales. As time goes on the rest of the picture emerges and what we see is those numbers were built on massive corporate buys, deep discounts, and money laundering techniques such as Donor gives $1000. School credits Donor with purchasing 125 single game tickets that are donate to the booster club at face value. Donor gets credit for his $1000 donation and school takes credit for selling 125 tickets that may never have even been printed or distributed. USF used this for years and I know one Sun Belt school nearly got in trouble with the NCAA because one year they failed to make all the accounting entries needed and were coming up short on required ticket sales.

Okay? Well I haven't. I even tried to stop one of our posters from pimping and writing novel length posts on other forums.

I'll be happy in the sun belt or wherever the next couple years are going to be special for our football and basketball teams, regardless of conference affiliation.

I don't have anything against UTSA. I couldn't care less about them or any other FCS team as I'm not affilated with any of them. I'm pointing out that selling tickets as an up and coming program is not the same as selling 29K tickets at face value. MT did the same thing and there's nothing wrong with it. There is something wrong with trying to equate it with what Sun Belt teams are doing...it's not the same. Congrats on your $15 ticket. I used to do the same thing when we were coming up. I left the discounted tickets alone and went full price to support the program. If you had looked around, you probably could have found one for $5.
What is funny is all these schools sniff about how inferior the Sun Belt is when the Sun Belt finished higher in the BCS rankings this year than the non-defecting MWC.

If their schools are so damn good they ought to be lining up to join so they can win the conference outright or tie for it 8 out of 9 seasons like Boise did on their way to BCS glory.

I mean if these loud-mouths are that good, their team can do that, right?
