Not that I will root against them but I just cant root for them as their BBall program is not in the MAC.

Having their football program in the conference though does increase the chance that they will become an all sports member. Or at least an all MAC sports member as I doubt the MAC will ever have enough members for Ice Hockey or LaCrosse

Well, from a MAC-centric perspective, the guaranteed basketball games between UMass and the MAC will be worth more if UMass continues to rise in the ratings. And from a negotiating standpoint, it'd look better if UMass basketball rose to Temple's level so that it doesn't look like just anyone can get football-only status here.

That said, I understand the sentiment, and I personally wouldn't have commented on the game on the MAC board if someone else hadn't already made the thread.
I like college basketball in general, regardless of the conference. I find UMASS and Temple a little more interesting because they are part-time members of the MAC. I rooted for Temple hoops all season and I have them running fairly deep in my bracket because I want them to do well and think they can. It's probably going to backfire on me though.
Score one for my NIT pool!

I doubt that UMASS MBB is ever going to travel to NIU so the BBall agreement really doesn't do anything for me.

I'll cheer for UMass until their posters develop the attitude towards the MAC that many of the Temple fans adopted, without winning anything! Then again, if they come right in and smoke the FB competition I can learn to dislike them too. Until then, go Minutemen!
Minutemen? Is that what your wive's call you?03-lmfao

I thought those were Fiveminutemen?
You'd understand if you'd been with a Minutewoman. They've got things to do. Can't be wasting all day on the rose petals and Barry White crap.

You've maybe not never done an NIT pool?

It's easier than a CIT bracket.

UMass 77 - Seton Hall 67.

We get winner of Drexel - Northern Iowa - hoping for NI for a home game.

Congrats on the win!

A Drexel vs. UMass game can be a preview of future MAC conference clashes. 05-stirthepot

Yep I would have preferred a UMASS/UNI tilt also. A10 vs the MVC who are 2 of the 3 best non Big 6 hoops conferences going. UNI lost by 2 to Drexel on the road. The NIT seeding process really screws conferences like the A10 & MVC that are underated since if you are a lower seeded team you have to win 3 road games to make it to NYC. If your a Seton Hall or Arizona(who each lost at home in the first round) and given a #1 seed, you have home games till NYC.
