Orange Leaf yogurt at The Banks

Written by
Lisa Bernard-Kuhn

Orange Leaf, a frozen yogurt shop, is slated to open at The Banks on April 5 – just before the Reds’ Opening Day Game.

The franchise will be located along Walnut Street at The Banks. Bengals defensive end Frostee Rucker is a majority owner in the franchise, with partners that include local businessmen and teammates including linebacker Robert Geathers, punter Kevin Huber and defensive tackle Pat Sims.

The Banks location is the fourth Orange Leaf locally, after stores in Hyde Park, Kenwood and Colerain Township.

The deal brings retail space in The Banks’ first phase to 84 percent leased, according to developers Carter and The Dawson Co. Other tenants include The Holy Grail, Johnny Rockets, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill and the Police Welcome Center. Signed but not yet open are Tin Roof, Crave, The Wine Guy, Mahogany’s and Ruth’s Chris.

Retail at The Banks has brought more than 300 new jobs to the region so far, developers said.

It'll be interesting to see how this does. I think it's overpriced but there seems to be quite a bit of traffic through the Banks especially with Moerlein now open.
Orange leaf, bad frog, menchies.....these things are popping up everywhere and seem to be doing okay at least out here in mason/west Chester.....interested to see how they compete over long haul.

I'm looking forward to Ruth's Chris. Ate at one in DC....pretty good.
Whatever happened to TCBY? Can't find em anymore.

I am too. I've never eaten at one although I know there is one in Columbus. Hopefully it is good because there are several great steak options in this town. I was very disappointed with Mortons, though.

Have you been to Moerlein yet? We went for lunch early last week and I was thoroughly impressed. Seems like they've really done it right. Excellent food, the beer was really good and the place is really nice inside with good views. Only problem is that we had some family in town this weekend and we wanted to take them there for an early dinner. We got there at 4:30 on Saturday and they told us it was a 3.5 to 4 hour wait! We went next door to Holy Grail instead (only 20 minute wait which I thought was still pretty unexpected given how early it was for a dinner crowd) and when we left there around 6:30 we noticed there was a line out the door at Moerlein and they were only letting two people in for every two people out!

Actually went early Sunday for lunch. Lager House is nice place and I can see doing very well down there especially game days.....may be a tough seat a lot of days.

I haven't been to Morton's but Ruth's Chris is very very good. And the sides are to share and still huge.
Steak is steak. You don't need a gourmet-trained chef to cook it. The margins are high and steakhouse food is simple (creamed spinach, asparagus, lettuce wedge, hash browns, etc). What matters is the service.

Up until Valentines Day, I would have recommended Morton's, but they had a habit of bringing out someone else's order (THREE TIMES) before we ever got our salads. My steak was delicious, but it was medium well on the edges and medium on the inside and I ordered medium rare.

They emailed me a comment card, which I responded in an honest but not malicious way. Never heard back from them.

Picky? Yeah. But that meal set me back $270.00 with tip, so it damn-well better be perfect. And the wait between salad and steak was something like 20 minutes.

We ended up at Morton's because of chewy sirloins at The Precinct, followed by a cocky-weird male server at Ruby's downtown.

Next up, Ruth's Chris?
Try Jag's.

Best steak in town!

Tried to go to Moerlein's after Bockfest and had the same problem, they told us a 3 hour wait, while there was about 100 open seats in the tented patio area. I decided to give myself a tour and it looked pretty sweet.

We went to Toby Keith's and the food was amazing. I know most people on this board may not care for you, but it was a pretty cool place.

I naturally assumed that was a typo when I read it. Due to my overwhelming charm and witty humor, I was left to only believe that there was no way that people couldn't like me.
