Good match-up and exposure for Zips....especially if they win!
That seems winnable.
Please spank the Big Ten wankers. They were crying hardcore about not getting into the Big Dance...
Ill be watching...get your MAC on!
Games not on in Toledo... I get the Umass game.
Big game for Akron. They absolutely need a win.

Started the season with a great win over Miss St. (who turned out to be not as good as pundits predicted they would be this season, but still a very good win on the road), then had a so-so out of conference run with a couple of disappointing losses, lose the first MAC game, but then get hot and look like they are going to run away from the field. Just when it looks like they are putting together a really notable season, they lose the BracketBuster to what turns out to be another NIT team, then get pounded at OU, then lose their seniors' last home game to Buffalo. They bounce back with two wins over KSU, but the loss to Ohio Saturday even put a damper on that.

A loss tonight would mean 5 losses in the last 7 games and really not much to show for the season but the regular season title and the 3 wins over their rival. That's still good, but I know last season the 3-game road NIT run saved KSU's season as everyone left feeling great about how it all ended. Akron really expected more out of this season, realistically, than a 1-and-done in the NIT. A win tonight will make the season a lot more palatable than the end of it has been so far.

That's because the Akron/NW game is on after the UMass game. 9:00.

OK guys as a ratings family I am watching the first half. But if they keep it within 12 I will watch the 2nd half. Unfortunately since I live in the Chicago burbs NU will take the credit for it.
Northwestern is just too much for Akron. Unless something changes the Zips are going to get blown away.
Watching and cheering for Akron. Let's keep Northwestern the Duke Football of basketball.
NW was shooting the lights out in the first half. Akron has stormed back. Come on MAC!

I tuned out just before the end of the first half. Just got back to the game with the score 63-59 Northwestern. Looks like something did change and Akron is making a game of it.

I think they got used to the purple floor.
Man, Akron was just a whisker away from stealing that game.
Nice game by Akron and a tough loss. I really was not expecting much out of the Zips. I guess I had gotten so used to the MAC being one and done I just assumed we would get out classed. I was dead wrong. Akron represented the MAC quite well in this one. Had the game been played on a neutral floor the outcome might have been different. Now let's see what Ohio can do in the NCAA Tournament. They will be up against another three point shooting team in Michigan.
Just got back from the NU- Akron game.

What were the Zips trying to do on the last play? Did they have a play? Diggs, who had a great game, looked surprised to get the ball. He sort of stumbled around and shuffled it off to Abreu, who was cold all night, for a 3? Can’t figure it out. Either go with Zeke underneath to tie or have Gilliam or Diggs, who both had hot hands, take the shot to win. It was the most disorganized the Zips looked in the second half.

The MAC cannot blame this one on the refs. Akron got every favorable whistle. The three point call on Crawford that sent Walsh to the line to tie was a travesty. Abreu traveled so much he might have FF miles. The Zips got loads of hospitality tonight from the refs.

Actually, it's NERDwestern! 03-lmfao
And also in the NIT tonight Marshall lost to MTSU. Lots of complaining on the C-USA board that Marshall should've made the NCAA field......after tonight doesn't look like it.
