Nice job Grizz! Now let's catch the Spurs.
The national media is gonna be forced to talk about us in a little bit. Sure they hate that. Will cut into their 3 games under .500 Knick team love fest
Simply Amazing! Go Grizz!
This run without zbo is simply amazing.
When Zbo comes back, we'll be mowing folks down!
It's splitting hairs, i know... but technically we are still in the #4 "playoff spot."

We are #3 in the overall western conference standings, but the NBA gives the division winners the top 3 seeds and then seeds by record after that. Unless we catch the Spurs, the #4 seed is the best we can hope for.

Either way, i'm beside myself! Our schedule is super easy the next couple of weeks also! We need to stack up wins before the schedule toughens up significantly in April.
^no we are a 3 seed. NBA changed that after 2005-2006, in an incident that directly affected the Grizzlies.

The Mavs finished 16 wins ahead of the Nuggets, yet were a 4 seed due to the rules. The Grizzlies just happened to be right behind them. So instead of being a 4 seed and playing the Clippers with homecourt advantage, we got to be a 5 seed and play the 60-22 Mavs in the 1st round.

They changed it after that year. Although the lowest a division winner can be is a 4 seed, if there is one team that's better then they get the 3 seed/

That's correct. The three division winners plus best 2nd place team are seeded by record. The 2nd place team with the best record can get as high as a 2 seed. This was changed after the 05-06 season by what's called today as 'the Clippers rule'. Late in that season the Clippers and Grizzlies were neck and neck for the 5th playoff spot. One game from the end of the season the Grizzlies and Clippers played here. The Clippers rested their starters and the Griz won. Memphis got the 5th seed and was rewarded with 60 win and 4th seed Dallas, poor LA fell to the 6th seed and got 44 win but division winner Denver. During the next offseason the NBA put in 'the Clippers rule'.
Good stuff. I never imagined we'd be in this spot without Zach.
The Spurs are playing well, but we can catch them. They're an aging team, and this schedule is horrendous for those types of teams. A lot of teams are wearing down. We're young, athletic, deep, and have our best player coming back when it matters most. The streak that we're on is pretty incredible, and I'm not sure if I see us falling back now.
Just remember that when ZBo gets back there will be a transition phase. Dont expect him to come back and us go on some run immediately. He will be a huge boost for the playoffs though.

In Hollins we trust. Surely he'll ease him in. The last time Zbo played, the Grizz had not yet gelled as a team.
Agreed. I hope he only gets about 10-15 minutes a game for the first week or so

Rob

Only a handful of teams could lose their best player and be where we are now. Feels good.
Let's keep this all in perspective. The West is so close we are only 3 games from being out of the playoffs.

Don't worry. This is the same core of posters that followed them the 22-60 years. We all realize there is tons of work to be done. Overconfidence is not a problem with us.

The same core of posters. I like that.

Isn't it just great to be able to cheer the good fortunes of both the Tigers and the Grizzlies? Yes.

Remember it's also a shorter season.
