No.
Griz needs shooters bad. Offense comes too hard for them. "Grit-n-Grind" is a nice tag line for marketing, but it won't win a championship. You need to have an outside threat to open up the lane. Is Arenas the answer? I don't know, but standing pat personel wise would be disappointing.
Sold. Sign him up.

Worst case scenario, you release him and pay him very little.

Even if he just played 15 minutes a game, Conley would only have to play 33.

Possible scenario; Conley goes down in game 1 of the playoffs. Are we really going to win a playoff series with Pargo or Selby this year?

Little to lose, LOTS to possibly gain.

Seconded
I want Agent 0 AKA Hibachi

Rob

I could buy into that. If all you're giving up is Sam young for an experiment with decent upside, I see little downside.
is he in shape?

LOL. If he is, he'd be fresh. If that were out there, I'd say let the team decide. Chemistry is huge, and I'd think more so w/ our grit and grinders.
There's no room for a second nutjob, particularly one with much less upside than the first.

I'm not doubting you, but what's the story? He has a history?

Didn't he pull a gun on a teammate ?

Okay, I remember that. Never mind.
He didn't pull a gun on a teammate.

Either way, he had a gun...in a locker room, that's crazy.
U of A fans (except for the blindest sycophants) and radio jockeys are distancing themselves from him, if that says anything.

Quote:D.C police never determined whether Crittenton’s gun was loaded almost 20 months ago, two days after Crittenton grew tired of a clowning Arenas on the team plane, telling his teammate he would shoot Arenas in the knee if he didn’t pay off a card-playing debt.

But two eyewitnesses that day in the locker room said Crittenton was contemplating pulling the trigger in response to Arenas laying out four unloaded guns on a towel with a note that read, “PICK 1” — in essence, cryptically daring the reserve guard to carry out his threat. Crittenton, the people in the room that day said, chambered a round in his own revolver. He had live ammunition, they believed, and might not be bluffing.
Ok, so Crittenton is a tad more crazy than Arenas . Why does he need 4 guns (unloaded or not) in a NBA locker room? Either way, if I were am NBA GM I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft poll.

Is there any sort of deadline for someone like Arenas in terms of playoff-eligibility? The reason I ask is I don't think the Grizz' offense will be as bad when ZBo comes back. There doesn't seem like a huge demand for Arenas - which tells you something about Arenas.

Arenas is a nut. He's not really a violent nut, though. And it's an important part of the story that he was joking with Crittenton (who was later charged with murder by the way) and that the guns (his guns, at least) were unloaded, and that he didn't draw them or brandish them or threaten anyone with them in any way. He says he kept the guns in his locker because he didn't want them in the house with his child(ren) or something like that.

I don't know if the front office wants to take a flyer on the guy or not. I don't really have an opinion on whether they should. Arenas is a head case. But he's more of a Tony Allen goofball type head case than a DeMarcus Cousins/Jelan Kendrick constant conflict type headcase, or a "Matta World Peace" you're not sure just what the guy is capable of headcase or a guy that's really prone to violent outbursts or anything like that. He's just kind of a weird guy that has shown some questionable judgment.
