Surprised that Page had the most bench press (225 lbs) reps for a MAC receiver:

Page - 15
White - 14
Brazill - 11

Also surprised that Brazill's 40 time was fastest:

Brazill - 4.48
Page - 4.60
White - 4.69

Only 11 to 15 reps of 225 pounds?

That is not very much for guys looking to suit up in the NFL.

That puts their maxes at somewhere between 275 to 300. That is about what I was doing at 30 without even hitting the gym.

Page is like 180 lbs soaking wet.
Page was the top WR in the 20 yd shuttle, 2nd overall.

That's how big I was too. I'm thinking this guys should be doing 30 reps at 225 (equating to a 350-400 max) at the D1 level.
So how much does strength help receivers? Maybe they can block better, or fight off a DB at the line - but I would think that would be more technique than strength.
I would think that Page's 40 time, especially considering his size, is going to hurt his draft stock more than anything.

Probably. But if he's just going to be a slot receiver, and his 20-yard shuttle time is good, maybe they'll figure he can still get open with his quickness and route running.

Only 26 of the 300(?)+ players at the combine have beat 30+ reps. Your expectations are unrealistic.

Yep, and the top WR put up 22.

Also, I don't ever believe a single thing LK says.

LK is a finely tuned machine. Probably walks around with a weight belt and Zubaz pants.

225 was my max as Sophomore in HS.

I would say 8 to 10 reps at my peak but I've always been a push up guy. I was doing 70+ pushups in a row when I was 13 years of age.

I may be above average for my size with these metrics but hardly NFL worthy, which is my point. HS worthy yes, college or NFL worthy no. I was never much better than 5.0 in the 40yd but had I been more serious who knows.

I didn't think 30 reps was that uncommon. There are college teams where most of the team can bench 400+ and its even fairly common at lower levels of college ball.
Strength obviously isn't everything when you're Eric Page who was an All American as a sophmore. Or Jordan White who dominated everyone he played, and was 3rd team AA this year. Strength only matters when you're strong. I don't think it's a neccessity as a wide out.

It's no secret around Toledo that Page does not have a fast 40 time, which is one of the main reasons he slipped to Toledo out of high school. But he's one of those guys that is just elusive and doesn't lose speed with pads and a football in his arms.

For what it's worth, Lance Moore didn't have a particularly fast 40 time either.
???? Putting up 225 11-15 times projects to a 1 rep bench max that's a hell of a lot higher than 275-300. More like 315-370.

Not necessarily...When I was in college I could get 225 17 times, but could only max 310. I do find it ridiculous that I was just an average college kid, weighed 180, and after 2 months of lifting could get it 17 times...and these guys can't come close.

Several years ago the number one draft in the NFL was a LB from Alabama- he got 15 reps in the bench. He also never amounted to anything as I can recall, evidenced in part by the fact that I can't remember his name.
