Full Version: How Long Has Brady Been At ASU?

Is this his third year? With all the excitement going on in Jonesboro over the football coach hire, the basketball coach might not be a big topic. But I wonder if the ASU faithful are starting to wonder if they are getting out of Brady what they thought they would when he was hired. Seems to me that they were pretty fired up about the hire when it happened.

Being picked to win the Western Division and ending up with a fifth place finish out of six in the west, and 8 out of 11 overall, probably doesn't sit well with the basketball fans up there. And losing to Little Rock in a game they led for virually the entire game up to less than a second to go won't help things either.
I was thinking about that last night: he had great success at LSU but was dumped. Hmmmm maybe it's because he's an A-Hole? I'm proud that our "good guy" beat that bloviating, net-cutting, saying-other-team-got-lucky jerk.

I've always wondered what the deal was when LSU let Brady go. I've never heard of a coach right off a Final Four appearance getting fired the very next year. And never heard any details or explanation on why LSU did it.

Most of the ASU fans on their board are pretty fed up with Brady. I was thinking it was, at least, his 4th year but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure he's the highest paid coach in the Belt. And he has another Final 4 coach as an assistant. Don't why he was let go at LSU, but know a couple of LSU fans and they couldn't stand him although I don't know why.
He needs to make some positive things happen pretty soon, I would imagine.
Make a run in the Tournament like Steve's team did last year should do it. They lost a lot of close games this year.
He is a big-name, successful coach. So if he just shows the program is moving forward, it might be enough for the short term. But I imagine he is on the hot seat next season.

They certainly don't have the money to buy him out, so there's not use worrying about it. They have mortgaged their entire athletic program to hire Gus Malzahn. Maybe it will work out, but if it doesn't they will be in big financial trouble.

I had that same conversation with my partners this morning. As long as Brady has some time left on his current contract he has absolutely nothing to worry about. Zero buyout money is available.
Having a buy out you can't afford adds stability to a program.
