Having talked to a few scouts that have attended UC games this year, I don't see it. They all think he could get drafted, but not high enough where it would make sense to sign. They all want to see him hit for power more consistently.
Caught the replay in the gym this morning - can't say how happy I am to have our guys make it 3 in a row over OSU.

Surprised they showed a replay of a Big Ten team losing.
UC is taking a serious butt kicking tonight - 14 -1 St. John's in the 8th. St. John's has 22 hits!

Swept by St John's. Villanova jumped in front of Goergetown for the 8th spot in the conference pending what happened on Sunday. 2-13 in the conference. Not competitive in 2 of the 3 games with St Johns at home. I am not sure what the admins expectations for this program are but I sure hope it is more than what they are getting.
Expectations are to put the most competitive team possible on the field as while losing as little money as possible.
At this point unless a miracle occurs, there will be no league tournament for UC this year. For a school in this area with good baseball and great facilities, it's very disappointing. It really looks like UC is headed to finish last as well.

UC was not even competitive in this series - being outscored 32-5 in three games. How can St. John's field consistently good teams and UC can't? Do they have that much more money for baseball than UC does? I'm guessing they don't. Sooner or later you would think that the coach would be held accountable for the overall lack of results this program has had.

Well looks like we lose in the competitive category. 4 games behind Villanova for 8th place with 12 to play. 3 game series against Villanova is a must. However UC plays Rutgers and UCONN ( both current tournament teams) before that. They haven't been competitive against better competition this season. 13 wins with 8 against Chico State, Oakland or Maryland alphabet soup - 5 wins against normal D1 programs. Hard to defend the current coaching staff.
May be tough to defend them, but it doesn't matter since they are not going anywhere.

If Cleary wants to stay in an administrative position to be the program ambassador/twitter man maybe they should let him do that. They need to get a coach/staff that can take advantage of the facilities that have been provided for the program.
Not going to happen. Cleary will be the head coach next season. They could lose every game left on the schedule 20-0 and he will get a pass for this year.

He has gotten a pass long enough. UC baseball fans deserve better. Hey $20 bucks for season tickets and we sold 1000. Go down to Marge Schott to watch us get out tails kicked again. Atleast it is cheap.
There is more to it this year.

Not fair to say this and not provide details if you know them. The way it appears is they get their tails kicked whenever they play good teams. Not alot else to see. Either they don't have the talent, the coach isn't putting that talent in position to succeed, or the coach doesn't get the players to perform at their best level. All of that resides squarely on the coach so if there is anything else please provide some details.
How about injuries?

Are there injuries? I haven't noticed players playing that were not supposed to contribute at the beginning of the season. Has the pitching staff taken a hit with injuries?
I know Strenge for sure and I think there are more.

Hasn't he been pitching during the weekends? If he is not ready they shouldnt' use him. Who else? I know the kid who started on Sat.s at the start of the year missed a couple of starts but he was not very effective. Maybe that is who you are thinking of.

I honestly don't remember seeing guys that started the year that haven't been available.
Strenge missed nearly a month due to an injury. At first they thought it was going to be season ending. He has come back, but has not been the same since.

Matt Ring was pulled from the starting lineup after he struggled the first few weekends He hasn't pitched since the Pittsburgh series.

As far as players playing that were not expected to contribute, there have been a few. Ryan Atkinson and Evan Hills are two that immediately come to mind. Pascuzzi is also no longer a member of the team.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think there were a ton of injuries. Not getting production from what you thought would be your Friday starter certainly hurts a team tremendously but shouldn't take it to being non-competitive against good teams.
