Funniest line of the day. Coach Foley was asked what he did to motivate Marian Kursch to play so well the past couple of games, and he said "The bench". He went on to say that after a player plays for him, by the time they are a Junior or Senior, much of what he trys to get across to them just slips by them because they don't hear him anymore because they're so used to hearing him. He said Bobby Knight always used to say that the bench went right to their brain.

Steve said he asked the assistants, before the opener against NT, what they honestly thought our conference record would be. Estimates ranged from 6-10 to 7-9. Steve told him he honestly thought we could go 11-5. They thought he was crazy. Of course, none of them would be very happy with 11-5 at this point.
