Temple and Air Force. As unlikely as that sounds because of the Villanova situation...and hoping L-ville doesn't split...a bit of a pipe-dream...

Temple as a FB only would be a great addition if no one else can make the jump to fill this upcoming year's hole. Air Force joins with Navy in 2015.

This way, the league would jump to 12 teams in '13 instead of having to wait 2 extra years until Navy joins. One team gets stuck in the West for 2 years until Navy and Air Force join.

2012:
Pitt
Cuse
L-Ville
USF
Cincy
Rutgers
UConn
Temple

2013/14:
East:

L-ville
Rutgers
USF
Cincy
UConn
Temple

West:
UCF (probably)
Memphis
Houston
SMU
Boise
SDSU

2015+
East:

L-ville
Rutgers
USF
Cincy
UConn
Temple
UCF

West:
Navy
Air Force
Memphis
Boise
Houston
SMU
SDSU
Best possible outcome?

NBC quietly brokers a Big East deal for Syracuse, Maryland, and Penn State in 2016. ES(ACC)PN is shocked, shocked that such a thing would happen in network television.

That, or UT heads west and the Big 12 folds.

Any revenge should be served to the ACC, not the Big 12.

Just an FYI but DeLoss Dodds said in an interview last week that UT would be looking east if the Big 12 dissolved. So in that case, it is either the Big 10, ACC, or a new conference with ND involved.

BTW, could you imagine the Armageddon that would happen if UT and ND got together saying they wanted to start a new conference?

It isnt out of the realm of possibility either. ND and UT have very good relations at both the President and AD level. The real question is whether those 2 together have the willingness to absolutely obliterate 120 years of history and tradition.

Texas, TTU, Oklahoma, Okie State head west to join the PAC. Big East adds Kansas, Kansas State, and readmits TCU and West Virginia.

Why not? Everybody else has no problem trying to obliterate 129 years of history and tradition. Let those assclowns put a bullet in all the newly reconfigured conferences.

This is honestly imo what would happen if The Texas/ Oklahoma gang all roll over to the far west. No way it couldn't. As much as some people like to down the Big East it's here to stay and any realistic super conference ideas would lead to this. Those schools aren't joining the SEC, Not joining the Big 10, and the only school on that list that might get an offer from the ACC is West Virginia.

That would surely make Boise and SDSU Happy too.
.00001% chance the ACC ever calls on West Virginia

ND has a connection to tradition that no other school has. Would they kill that and would they be willing to obliterate the financial well being of dozens of schools? After what Aggie did this fall, UT would have no such qualms.

Exactly and everyone else has an even less chance. The Big East is in good shape and if something bigger does go down they will be in good shape then as well.
The conference that SHOULD be is...

Called The Big BCS Conference
OSU
Michigan
Miami FL
FSU
OU
Nebraska
UT
Bama
Florida
Auburn
USC
ND

Basically the top two teams in the conference play for the national championship each year. The top 8 teams play in the BCS games.

there...it's what TV wants anyway
