WVU apparently has offered $11 Million to leave. Could the BE cave for such a paltry amount? If they did, what would that say about our legal position? Weak?

Can't believe the BE would allow them to leave for such a small sum. It does mention that Neinas may bail WVU out to get this done. Still, this doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the BE brass if they don't stick it to the B12 to get this situation resolved.

$11 Million is crap. Does that include the $5 Million exit fee WVU has already paid half of? Nothing in the article mentions it.

BSU's buyout from the MWC is apparently $5 Million. But nothing was mentioned about how their BB/Oly sports would be handled.

To me it just screams how much "mediation" is a waste of time in the vast majority of legal cases. I should start a mediation service! Great way to make money!
Do you need a partner in your mediation service?
I thought I read where the Big XII was going to cough some of that up since they are being allowed to leave early.
The sooner they leave the faster we get the ball rolling. Hopefully WVU & Louisville play every few years in football, if they do we got the next home game.
No way should the league settle for only $11 million. $20 million works, and I don't carry who is paying the bill at that point, WVU or the Big 12.
The article you posted is yesterday's news. This was posted on the WVU gets its way thread:

For what it's worth, this is the only news out I've found so far. Looks like WVU and the Big East may still be headed to trial in June.

I read more like 20 million and maybe more if the Big East members have to play each other twice because they can't get a 6th ooc game. Supposedly, W. Va is hoping for a new member to join the Big East early with W. Va helping to pay the new members old conference's exit fee.
11M for WVU to leave... 9M for the BE to drop the potential TI suit against the Big 12.. Both sides get to say they won.
Well I guess they pulled it off. Congrats to WVU - I guess this is what you wanted. Good luck in the future. It wil be interesting to see how travel costs impact your school in the future.

The Big 12 payouts more than make up for travel.

Best of luck to all the current and future BE schools. I wish it hadn't ended up this way, i mean that sincerely. The years when the BE was cooking a few years back were a lot of fun. The conference races were exciting. I wish things had worked out differently early on, with Penn State on board, but it wasn't to be.
Now Brian Murphy, who covers Boise, is discussing:

Sounds like BSU is going to move along early now..

Dominoes are starting to drop..
$11 million from WVU and $9 million from the Big 12 ($1 million per school). Total = $20 million. That's posted in another thread.
oh god, I bet WVU wishes they had burned all those couches before checking for loose change.
The change still spends, whether it has charcoal on it or not, Tige...

Will the CoinStar still accept it?

I've never used their services. So I couldn't say... 07-coffee3
I wish West Virginia, Syracuse and Pitt well. You are leaving because of the bad leadership from Providence and the Catholic schools. I understand why, Louisville will be doing the same soon. You new football schools will soon learn how it is. It will be better than the WAC and CUSA, but not what it could be. 04-rock
