'Best Damn Sports Show Period' Coming To Tucson

All the Midnight Madness Information!

The No. 1 entertainment show for sports fans teams up with college basketball's probable preseason No. 1 team this Friday, Oct. 11, when the BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD and co-host Tom Arnold come to Tucson for the University of Arizona's Midnight Madness festivities.

When the Wildcats kick off their 2002-03 campaign with their first official practice this Friday at midnight in McKale Center, Arnold and BDSSP are set to be along for the ride. Beginning in the afternoon from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., Arnold tapes his segments for Friday's BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD from Gentle Ben's (865 E. University Blvd.) and the public is invited to attend and be a part of the show (ages 21 and above; seating is limited, please call Gentle Ben's at 520-624-4177 for more information).

The BDSSP from Tucson airs Friday night on Fox Sports Net at 8 p.m. and then replays at 11 p.m. Also set to appear on Friday's BDSSP in its Los Angeles studio are Tony Siragusa (FSN's The NFL Show), Richard Williams (Venus & Serena Williams father), Kellen Winslow & Artie Gigantino (FSN's College Football Saturday Kickoff) and comedian Alex Thomas.

When the action shifts to McKale Center for Midnight Madness, Arnold participates in the events the UA has planned prior to the UA's first practice of the season, and he is set to take part in what happens after midnight as well. During his night at McKale Center, he will tape some segments that recap his night with the Wildcats for the BDSSP next Monday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m.

BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD, which debuted July 23, 2001, features host Chris Rose, former pros Michael Irvin & D'Marco Farr (NFL), John Kruk (MLB) and John Salley (NBA) and actor/comedian Tom Arnold as the voice-of-the-fan, who interview top guests and tackle the hottest issues with information and opinions. Lisa Guerrero provides sports news updates and interviews and Leeann Tweeden is the show's correspondent. The show airs weeknights in prime time for two hours at 8 p.m. (when a home team game isn't on) with re-airs of the show telecast at 11 p.m.
