ETSU vs Chattanooga at the Dome in 2004 as requested by Fan1. You'll never see a crowd like this in the Dome again.

Since YouTube now allows me to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, I will now start splitting these up into just two parts going forward, the first half and second half.

1st Half

2nd Half

I owe you a beer, Bucster.
I remember that year very well. At the time, I would never have imagined that my attitude toward Bartow would be so negative now. I do believe we can draw that crowd again- but we have to be playing teams that people care about and have a good and enjoyable team. We have none of these things now.

Oh I believe we could draw a good crowd with those things as well but the main reason I said that was because of the Fire Marshall restrictions. Unless Davey gets that fixed or we get a new arena then we will never see that kind of crowd again, no matter who comes to the dome.
Long before there was the Courtney Pigram "growl", there was the Gerald Fields growl, and the Zakee Wadood sneer.

Gosh what a team we had then......

Thanks for all your game postings, bucster. Don't guess there's any chance of having the Western KY 3-OT game?
I had forgotten how good all of those guys were. Fields was so incredibly versatile/skilled for someone of his size. I loved how he could take opposing bigs off the dribble.
Well, fortunately, I sure had not forgotten. Watching that team - the ball movement, the penetration with passing (not even including Tim Smith), the spacing, the team chemistry, the heart and refusal to lose - all of it - in comparison to the current team is just outstanding. Thus, watching our team at this point in time is demoralizing.
I don't believe it. The days of Mid-majors drawing crowds like that are looooooong over.

Oh wait, that was just 2004?????
Oh and do my eyes deceive me or is that actually Fox Sports and NOT CSS or A-Sun TV???

My how we've fallen.

My how we've fallen.

But we have soccer!
From what I have read we could still legally have a cro wd of 9000, 3000 on each side and a 3200 on the floor.
Thanks!

No I'm afraid I dont have that one, although I would love to see it. I dont have anything before the 89-90 season or anything after 04-05.
Great game, I miss that team alot. Thanks for the post. I remember after winning the conference championship that year, we went to eat with the team at T-Bones. The waiter asked someone if we were going to need any high-chairs. Jerald Fields spoke up and said, "I dont know, is Timmy (smith) coming?" Haha
Spotted Chef Rick in the standing room only student section.

Good times.
I loved the supporting cast on this squad too. Rhoda provided a blue-collar, well-rounded game; Anthony lingered on the perimeter providing sharpshooting and timely 3's; Knuckles gave length, sound fundamentals, and was the perfect compliment to Fields' physicality.

How would this squad fare against the contemporary Bruins?

Bartow was still in love with the idiotic zone so we`d give up a ton of 3s.

We'd score at will though, no one in the A-Sun has the bigs to handle Fields down low. Hell they couldn't handle Sneed.

Still only went 7 deep even though we had the bench to go 8 or 9 03-banghead
