Looks like there is someone else interested in a future spot in the OVC. We're getting passed by another D-2 transitional. 03-banghead

North Alabama mulling over jump to NCAA Division I athletics
Memphis is also leaving CUSA, so some more shifting is sure to come.
We passed on the opportunity to go back to the OVC in 08.

Since then do you think we have positioned ourselves to make a move to another conference if one appears, or better yet are we inquiring about possible opportunities?
no....and maybe
We have an able new President. Now we need a prompt change of athletic admisistration and a new upward direction for the athletic department. Staying where we are as the only school in Tennessee without a football program is not an option for a brighter future for ETSU.

Oh yea, Belmont's AD punk'd Mullins, who was left "shocked" when Belmont announced they were leaving for the OVC.
Sounds like Louisville may be leaving the Big East this year as well. Which means the Big East could pull another school from either the MAC (Temple) or conference USA. Of course, this would have to trickle way down to affect us.
Etsu will be left out in the cold. You can thank Mullins and Stanton. As well as the idiots who support them.
Georgia St looking at moving to the FBS level. Sun Belt maybe. I'm surprised at their revenue numbers. $22 million is more than enough to compete in the Sun Belt. It's mostly on the backs of students though.

Yes. ETSU isolated itself and embarked on a reverse athletic course in 2003 and has done little or nothing to remedy that move since. There is nothing much left of ETSU athletics to bargain with. Who would be interested in ETSU athletics as an addition to their league, outside the the A-Sun? I can think of no one, zero. What Stanton and Mullins did to ETSU athletics must go down as one of the dumbest, incompetent blunders in the history of mid-major DI NCAA athletics. I know its old news and the beating of that proverbial dead horse. But, before Noland can correct this mess, if he chooses that course of action, he will have to acknowledge the mess first and foremost. What is he going to do about ETSU athletics?
It sure looks as if the OVC or the Socon (or both) will be forced to add members in the next year or two. We NEED to be in the conversation.
