Preferred walk-on COULD sign yesterday just as like scholarship signees.
I believe we know the difference as EMU announces the signees with athletic scholarships but do not announce the signing of preferred walk-ons.
Here is a PM a poster who really understands recruiting sent me:
"Yes, preferred walk-on's sign a document stating that they are guaranteed a roster spot and they are promising to enroll at the school and pay their own way. They do not get any financial aid for playing football. They are allowed to start practicing with the team for camp in August. A regular walk-on is not guaranteed a spot and cannot even try out for the team until after the school's fall semester/quarter has begun and they are enrolled in classes. "
This really helps!!
There were a few players who announced that the signed yesterday as preferred walk-ons.
